1-99 Complete Agility Guide OSRS (fastest Way)

osrs agility guide

Your Agility level has an impact on how quickly you regenerate your run energy, so naturally, it’s a pretty important skill to train! This Agility Guide shows you the best ways to level up the skill AFTER the May 2024 Rework and January 2025 run energy changes.

P.s. Use my Agility Calculator to calculate the laps & time in between levels.

I’ll go over some useful information first, so use the navigation below (or skip to Agility Path) if you’re already familiar.

You can also follow along with my video guide.

May 2024 Agility Rework

In May of 2024, Agility received a rework as part of the skilling rebalance update. This update made early-game agility more accessible, added Marks of Grace to more Agility courses, and made the leveling progression more linear. (Read blogpost)

In January 2025, the run energy system received a rework. The TL;DR is that you now regain energy faster at lower levels AND your energy drain is no longer dependent on your weight alone. It’s now influenced by both your weight AND your agility level. (Read blogpost)

run energy changes

This makes it more important than ever to train Agility because it now allows you to run longer!

As an interesting side effect, this change makes Graceful LESS useful than it was before. It’s still good in niche scenarios that require continuous running, but with a decent Agility level, you won’t really use it that much anymore.

Why you should train Agility

Agility is one of the most useful skills in the game, as your agility level has a direct impact on your run regeneration and energy drain.

So the higher your Agility level, the longer you can run (less energy drain) and the faster you regain your energy. This is VERY noticeable in-game.

So every player should train their Agility, the earlier the better! Even just getting to level 50 Agility will have a massive impact on your gameplay instead of running around with 1 Agility.

Useful info

Before we get started, here are some low-requirement quests that can help you skip the early agility levels.

The tourist trap

Requirements 10 Fletching 20 Smithing Stats to defeat a lvl 47

This is a relatively short quest that is frequently used to skip levels 1-26 Agility, as doing the quest is faster (and more efficient) than leveling manually. This quest rewards two lamps, which you have to use on Agility.

The grand tree

Requirements25 Agility

Following the Tourist Trap, you can do the Grand Tree. This quest rewards you with 7,900 experience, taking you instantly to level 32 Agility!

For a full list of quests that reward Agility XP, check the wiki.

Marks of Grace

Many Agility courses (rooftop and regular courses) reward players with Marks of Grace. These randomly spawn around the course, and can be traded for pieces of the coveted ‘Graceful Outfit’.

Graceful outfit

Graceful Outfit
Graceful outfit pieces are ‘weight-reducing items’. Wearing the full set takes away -25kg AND comes with a set effect that offers 30% faster run energy restoration.

In the past, the meta was to grind out Graceful as quickly as possible, as this item was considered essential for the early game. It helps you with getting around during quests and skilling activities.

However, since the Agility rework, Graceful is no longer as good as it used to be.

This is simply because your Agility level now has a much bigger impact on your run regeneration. So getting a high agility level is more important than getting graceful. So in the main agility path of this guide, we focus on leveling up quickly.

If you still want to grind out Graceful first, you can follow the Graceful path instead.

Best Agility Food: Summer Pies

summer pies are the best agility food

You take falling damage from failing obstacles while you train agility, so you always want to have food on you.

Summer pies are considered the best food for agility as each pie gives you 2 bites, each healing you 11 hitpoints, and you get a temporary +5 level boost and 10% energy restore.

Due to their level boost, Summer pies can also be used to access higher-level agility courses, earlier.

Fun fact: you only need the level requirement for the first obstacle of a course. So you can always boost for the start of the course, and finish it even if you don’t technically have the required level! Using summer pies to unlock better courses is a bit expensive but does save a lot of time.

1-99 Agility Path

I consider this the ‘chill way’ to train Agility; the majority of you reading this will find the most value in this path.

We prioritize XP over graceful.
This path is ironman-friendly.

1- 20 | Draynor Village Rooftop Course

Draynor rooftop course

The first thing you want to do is train your agility from level 1 all the way to 20 at the Draynor Rooftop course. At 10K exp/hr, this will take only about 30 minutes!

For anyone reading this thinking I made a mistake, the Draynor Rooftop course is now available at level 1 Agility as part of the new rework, hurray!

20-60+ | Brimhaven Agility Arena

brimhaven agility arena

Between levels 20-60, you will get FAR better experience at the Brimhaven Arena than at any rooftop course, so I highly recommend you train here.

Author’s note: It used to be meta to unlock Graceful as quickly as possible so everyone would stick to rooftop courses. But with the run energy changes (January 2025) your drain rate is now influenced by your Agility level. So it is more efficient to level your Agility compared to unlocking graceful outfit pieces. Therefore, I recommend you do Brimhaven between 20-60, which is MUCH faster than doing rooftops between those levels.

If this is your first time in Brimhaven, I recommend you watch this 3 min video below to help you understand the basics.

https://youtu.be/GRNo76iZBIw?si=nUsTbJwuBg_d3nJ7

How it works

The Brimhaven Arena consists of many platforms with obstacles in between the platforms and ticket dispensers in the center.

brimhaven arena map + obstacle levels

Every 60 seconds, one dispenser will have a yellow arrow flashing above it, indicating this is the active dispenser.

highlighted ticket pillar

If you reach that dispenser in time, you will get rewarded with two tickets:

  • An XP ticket
  • And a shop voucher

Both of these can be redeemed in the shop outside.

So during this minigame, you get XP for traversing the obstacles as well as from redeeming XP tickets.

The obstacles are locked behind levels 1, 20, and 40 Agility. However, the course is totally doable with only 20 Agility; it just might take you longer to get to the dispensers, and you occasionally miss a dispenser if you fail too many obstacles.

Oftentimes, you will experience ‘downtime’ in between dispensers. The best thing for you to do during this downtime is to spam the spike trap over and over to get extra experience. Don’t just stand there, do something!

TIP: If you are using Runelite, you can use the detached camera plugin to temporarily freeze your camera in place. Then, if you spam-click in the center, your character will continuously do the same obstacle.

How to get there

how to get to Brimhaven Agility Arena

To easily reach Brimhaven, use either an amulet of glory (karamja) or travel via the boat on the docks of Rimmington or Ardougne (costs 30GP).

How to start

Travel to the Brimhaven arena via one of the above-listed paths. Make sure you have some cash on you (it’s 200GP per entry, but bring more in case you log out). You will also need some food; bring summer pies if you can afford them.

pay cap'n izzy to access the brimhaven arena

Pay 200GP to the cap’n Izzy and then go down the ladder.

Now you will see an arrow pointing to the active pillar, follow it and try to reach the obstacle. If you fail to make it in time, just go for the next one. Now repeat until you have your desired Agility level!

Don’t forget to spam the spike-trap in between obstacles to get the listed XP rates.

You won’t be collecting Marks of Grace to chip away at Graceful, but remember:it’s now more important to level your Agility, compared to grinding out Graceful. If you do still want to get Graceful, you can follow the Graceful path below.

In the Brimhaven Arena, your XP scales with your level, so you can even stay here until 99 if you wish.

60-70 | Seers Village Rooftop

seers village rooftop course

Starting at level 60, you can consider moving away from Brimhaven.

The Seers Village course offers similar XP to Brimhaven at this level, but only if you have the Hard Kandarin Diary completed. This diary allows you to swap your ‘Camelot’ teleport to a ‘Seers Village’ teleport, when you use this at the end of the course, you can teleport to the start of the course.

This bumps the hourly exp rate from 45k exp/hr to 56k exp/hr.

Optional: 75-90 | Prifddinas Rooftop Course

prifddinas agility course

If you’ve completed Song of the Elves, the Prifddinas course is a good alternative to the Brimhaven Agility Arena (which you are likely tired of by this point) at level 75+ Agility.

Instead of Marks of Grace, the Priff course rewards you with roughly 45 Crystal Shards per hour.

The Priffdinas course beats the Rellekka course in terms of XP/hr, so it’s recommended to stick to this place until 90+. At 90+ you can switch to Ardougne, or continue here all the way to 99 depending on whether you prefer Marks of Grace or Crystal Shards.

The prifddinas course starts in the Northern bank. You can quickly get here via Spirit tree, or teleport seed.

80-90 | Rellekka Rooftop Course

rellekka rooftop course

The Rellekka rooftop offers good XP rates but only if you have completed the Fremennik Hard Diary. Otherwise, Brimhaven or Prifddinas will be better choices for you.

Author note: Being a smaller course, I prefer this one over Priff.

Requirements

You need the Fremennik Hard Diary to get full XP rates.

90-99 | Ardougne Rooftop Course

At level 90+, the Ardougne rooftop course is the best place to train (aside from the Hallowed Sepulchre). It will take approximately 110 hours to get to 99 from here.

Graceful Path

This is the alternative Agility path for those who want to grind out Graceful as quickly as possible. Or simply for those who want an alternative to Brimhaven between levels 20-60.

Important: During this path, we do NOT prioritize experience, and instead prioritize Marks of Grace. Since we do not visit the Brimhaven arena, we will level up MUCH slower.

From levels 1-20, do the Draynor Rooftop course, as described in the main path.

30-40 | Barbarian Outpost

Between levels 30-40, you get the most Marks of Grace at the Barbarian Outpost.

The Barbarian outpost requires level 35 to access, but you can boost this with a summer pie. You only need to boost to squeeze through the pipe to access the course. Ironmen will have to wait until they reach level 35.

Alfreds Barcrawl is required to access this course, so if you don’t want to do that, use the Varrock rooftop instead.

40+ | Canifis Rooftop (until Graceful complete)

canifis rooftop course

Starting at level 40 Agility (35 with a summer’s pie), you can run the Canifis rooftop course, which has the highest Marks of Grace yield (19/hr) until level 90.

So if your goal is to get graceful as quickly as possible, you should stick to the Canifis course until you have the complete set.

You will need 260 Marks of Grace to unlock the full Graceful set. You’ll have around 30+ Marks of Grace by the time you reach Canifis, meaning you’ll need 230 more. This will take approximately 12 hours to obtain and will put you at roughly level 60 Agility.

Fastest Agility Path

In this path, we go from 1-99 as quickly as possible. We basically do this through a combination of the Brimhaven Arena and the Hallowed Sepulchre.

This path is ironman-friendly.

Here’s a quick overview:

  • 1-20: Draynor rooftop
  • 20-72: Brimhaven Agility Arena
  • 72-99: Hallowed Sepulchre

I already covered the Brimhaven Arena, so just scroll up if you want info on that.

Hallowed Sepulchre

After level 72+, the Hallowed Sepulchre offers the fastest Agility experience in the game.

This is not just an Agility course, but a minigame, with 5 different floors which are locked behind Agility levels 52-92.

Each floor has unique obstacles that require a good grasp of movement and pathing to complete. There is a massive learning curve to this activity which is why many players prefer conventional courses over the Sepulchre.

But those who can manage to master it will be rewarded with the best Agility XP rates (provided you don’t make mistakes), and it’s also profitable at around 1.7M GP/hr at level 92.

You can get here via Fairy Ring code A-J-P. Otherwise, you can teleport to the Hunters Guild via the Quetzal Network and run South. You can also build a Quetzal site right next to the course for future travels.

The Colossal Wyrm is a new agility course in Varlamore. There are two tiers: basic (50 Agility) and advanced (62 Agility). While this course doesn’t impact the meta at all, it’s a good alternative for those who seek a low-effort course. Here, you spend more time in animation than at any other course.

Instead of Marks of Grace, you earn ‘termites’ which can be spent in the reward shop in exchange for fun rewards such as the Varlamore Graceful recolor (my favorite) and a transmog for the squirrel pet.

Furthermore, you will also passively gain blessed boneshards, which you can turn into prayer experience at the Ralos Rise altar.

The best way to prevent dying is to join an Agility mass. The friend chat ‘Agility FC’ frequently hosts masses in bounty hunter worlds.

For those who don’t mind clicking a lot, the Werewolf Agility Course is a really good alternative to Seers Village at level 60 Agility. Especially for those who have not completed the Kandarin Hard Diary.

This is a small course that offers really good XP rates if you retrieve the stick each time and hand it to the trainer at the end of the course.
