He originally had to retire in 2003 owing to neck injuries. Austin, however, continued making appearances on television for a year on RAW, going from co-GM to a sheriff. Following the end of this stint, Stone Cold has made sporadic appearances, which are enough for the fans to go berserk. Despite the fact that practically all of his appearances are the same in that they all feature a slew of stunners, the crowd reaction makes all his appearances stand out.
10 Celebrating The 3:16 Day Without A Crowd
COVID-19 forced all sports to shut down, but WWE decided to continue behind the closed doors. The first taping without a crowd was for the March 16, 2020, episode of RAW, and Stone Cold Steve Austin came out to celebrate 3:16 Day and announce it as a holiday.
We all know the significance of 3:16 in his career and even WWE, and it was nice for fans to watch the promotion recalling the moment. As may be expected, Austin delivered stunners to Byron Saxton, Montez Ford, and Angelo Dawkins to celebrate 3:16 Day the only way Stone Cold knows how.
9 Special Guest Referee At WrestleMania 26
Who wanted to watch Jerry "The King" Lawler take on Michael Cole? Probably no one, but Steve Austin taking on the role of referee for their WrestleMania 26 encounter certainly brought fans' eyes to the contest. He was most likely the only thing that saved the match from backlash. From the entrance on his classic ATV to giving stunners to Cole and Jack Swagger, Austin did what he does best throughout the match.
8 Officiating At Cyber Sunday 2008
Cyber Sunday 2008 featured Chris Jericho and Batista locking horns for the World Heavyweight Championship. Fans voted for Austin as the guest referee, having a massive lead over Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton.
However, both Michaels and Orton came down to officiate the match for a while and the latter tried everything to go against Austin. As one may guess, constant distractions didn't benefit Orton much, and he received a Stone Cold Stunner. The Texas Rattlesnake shared a beer with the winner Batista after the match and at least spared him from a stunner.
7 Appearance At WrestleMania 32
Stone Cold Steve Austin's first two WWE Tag Title reigns were with Shawn Michaels and Dude Love aka Mick Foley as partners. He appeared at WrestleMania 32 alongside both these legends to confront The League of Nations, who had just declared themselves the best three-man team in the world.

It didn't take them much time to beat the League, and they then shifted their focus to The New Day. Austin snapping fingers to the beats of Xavier Woods was the closest fans ever witnessed him dancing. The night, however, didn't end well for Woods.
6 Stunners At RAW 25 Years
The McMahons shared the ring on the 25th Anniversary of RAW, and Vince McMahon expressed his anger at fans for not thanking him enough. Steve Austin had heard enough and finally made his way to the ring. The whole segment was hilarious as Vince McMahon pleaded to Austin that he was a senior citizen and Shane was in his prime.
The Texas Rattlesnake stunned Shane and surprisingly hugged Vince. This, however, didn't last long as he gave a Stone Cold Stunner to McMahon as well and started drinking beer.
5 Appearance At WrestleMania 30
Hulk Hogan, The Rock, and Steve Austin sharing a ring was just a pipe dream before WrestleMania XXX turned it into a reality. The three of the biggest names of Monday Night Wars opened WrestleMania 30 in the grandest way possible. All three shared beers and gave great promos. Although he didn't deliver any stunners, the segment will still go down as one of the best featuring Austin.
4 Three Stunners At WrestleMania 38 Sunday
This is the most recent appearance by Steve Austin. Pat McAfee managed to defeat Austin Theory but fell short against a 76-year-old Vince McMahon. Fans may have gone home upset if not for Austin returning and taking a trip down memory lane.

2 Austin Gets Into The Hall Of Fame
It was no surprise that Steve Austin would be inducted into the Hall of Fame and that he would do so by headlining a class. He was inducted into the hallowed hall in 2009 by Vince McMahon, probably his greatest rival throughout his career. Austin, dressed in a suit and entering to his glass-shattering theme, was a sight to behold. McMahon and Austin shook hands as a sign of respect after years of providing entertainment to fans, and it was one of the few times when the boss didn't get a stunner from Stone Cold.
1 One Last Match Against Kevin Owens
Who'd have guessed Steve Austin would make a comeback to the ring? Even though he agreed to appear on Kevin Owens' show, the chances of him competing in a match were slim. However, he wasted no time accepting when Owens challenged him to a No-Holds-Barred Match.

Austin was competing after a 19-year hiatus, yet his performance was much above any spectator's expectations. Both superstars tore the house down in an enthralling main event.
