YouTuber Emila Hartford, who pushed her heavily modified 2020 mid-engine Corvette to 1022 horsepower on a dyno earlier this year, has broken the record for quickest C8 on the drag strip for a second time. She was able to lay down a 9.36-second time with a trap speed of 147 mph at the Famoso Raceway in Southern California during a recent private testing event, beating her old record of 9.41 seconds at 144 mph set back in March 2021.

From most angles, the C8 in question looks fairly standard, save for a set of bead-lock Forgeline wheels wrapped in Micky Thompson drag radials. From the rear, though, it becomes obvious just how much work has been put into this car. The engine is still the original LT2, but equipped with a bunch of go-fast internals and mods from Texas Speed to handle boost from the two Precision turbochargers hanging out the back. There are aftermarket clutches from Cicio Performance to handle the extra torque and KW suspension components to keep everything in line during hard launches.

We're excited to see just how much further Hartford and her team can push the C8 platform. We can't imagine the 8s are too far off.
