FAQs
What is the best peanut butter for toast? The best peanut butter for toast is your favorite! I love crunchy peanut butter for extra texture but use smooth if that’s your favorite. You can also use natural peanut butter or “regular” peanut butter that has some oil and sugar added in. Again, it depends on your preference. You can also use any nut butter. Try out almond butter, cashew butter, or even sun butter for a nut-free option.
What is the best bread for peanut butter toast?Again, go with your favorite! A high-quality artisan or sourdough bread will always be my favorite for toast, but I don’t always have it on hand. I do usually have whole grain bread (sprouted, typically!), but I think toast and peanut butter is pretty flexible and you can really use just about anything.
Is peanut butter toast healthy?Yes, toast and peanut butter is a nutritious combination that provides protein, fiber, and filling fats. Then add other toppings for some sweet or savory combinations, as well as extra nutrition. It’s also a healthy snack, so try it in the afternoon as well.
What to Serve with Toast and Peanut Butter
While this toast is a fairly filling meal, you may want to add a side or two to round out the meal (and definitely coffee if you’re anything like me!):
- Fruit – Fresh fruit, smoothies or smoothie bowls, juice
- Extra Protein – Breakfast sausage, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, Greek yogurt parfait, cottage cheese
- Coffee – Cappuccino, latte, brown sugar shaken espresso, dirty chai latte
