SURAB I ordered 2021 Forester Touring last weeek and was told it takes 2 months to come. The color I wanted was Sepia Bronze with Saddle Brown Interior wasn't in the dealersips, So I ordered one with the good price. Does anyone know, where this car comes from? Do they manufacture here in US or Japan? #1 · May 8, 2021 I ordered 2021 Forester Touring last weeek and was told it takes 2 months to come. Be aware that the wifi download is especially slow for reasons that aren't clear to me--it took me weeks to auto-download 7 state maps, even though I confirmed over 50 Mbps download in the garage. Maybe the wifi download only works when the system is "awake" (either engine on or in accessories mode)? In any case, I recommend the "download on PC to flash drive" method--you get all of the map updates at once that way, rather than just one state at a time, and the upload to the car via the USB port takes only about 10 minutes, as I recall (maybe it was less, but that was 5 months ago...). When the freebies run out, ask yourself whether you'd really rather use the in-car nav instead of Google Maps via CarPlay or Android Auto. If you would, then by all means pay for the map downloads. 0 Reply #5 · May 8, 2021 JAPAN, AS ALL FORRESTERS DO. i HAVE A 2020 TOURING...LOVE IT! #6 · May 8, 2021

I spent months looking for the right FXT to get that interior. It's so much more beautiful than the black interiors. #20 · May 13, 2021 I have a 2018 XT Touring edition in that color combo. Absolutely beautiful, yesterday I got my son a 2021 Forester Touring Black on Black which is also a knockout. Nice small changes on the interior some dealers in New@ 552515 York are looking for 2 grand over MSRP because of the shortage of cars... crazy! what happened to the thousands off of the sticker. 552516 0 Reply #7 · May 8, 2021 out here on the west coast (california) several dealers have that exact vehicle (i'm in the process of buying that exact configuration and will pick mine up next saturday, $2500 off of sticker) #8 · May 8, 2021 That’s a very good deal. Mine is around $2000 off the advertised price. 0 Reply #9 · May 8, 2021

Here's where all the Subarus come from: CrossTrek and Forester -- Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. Yajima Plant, Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. Impreza, Outback, Ascent and Legacy -- Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) plant, Lafayette, Indiana, USA. #11 · May 8, 2021 Thanks!! 1 Reply #10 · May 8, 2021 Production in Japan resumes tomorrow after being shut down for most of April due to the worldwide chip shortage. Then they took their annual 10 day spring break. Two months is more or less normal for a Japanese-built Subaru. One month to process the order and build the car and another month at sea. #12 · May 8, 2021

Forester is still made in Japan. Ascent, Outback, Legacy, Crostrek are made in Indiana for the North American market. #14 · May 9, 2021 I'm pretty sure every Crosstrek I saw was made in Japan. My Impreza was Indiana. Show more replies 0 Reply #16 · May 12, 2021 There is a plant in Indiana that manufactures Subaru’s. It may just manufacture certain models? #17 · May 13, 2021 Foresters are not made in the Indiana plant. Only Ascent. Outback. Legacy and Impreza are made there. Foresters come out of Japan. 1 Reply #19 · May 13, 2021 So, I received a confirmation from Subaru with order number, but dealership don’t know the vin number or any other details yet. I have no idea what the next step is and dealers shoul know the vehicle details few days after the order right? Is there a way to track my order online? I do not have the vin number, but the vehicle order number. #21 · May 13, 2021 You have an official order. A VIN gets assigned later when the vehicle gets scheduled for production. You'll need to be patient. ;) 0 Reply #24 · May 13, 2021 I love the saddle brown interior (and pearl white exterior) of my 2018 Touring. The driver's seat still shows zero wear. It's funny to me that friends and associates with much more expensive or luxury cars always comment like "wow, nice interior" when they first get in. #25 · May 13, 2021 Japan, and it might take much longer - the chips that make the beast run are in dire shortage, and they are messing up the entire auto industry. #27 · May 13, 2021 The Forester comes from Japan, I ran into the same delay when I ordered mine. The Outback is faster to get since it is made in the USA. You have insufficient privileges to reply here.
