If you’ve ever wondered what to do with frozen strawberries, then I’ve got just the recipe list for you! 23 Amazingly delicious frozen strawberry recipes that will have you drooling in seconds!

I’m 100% certain that it’s all psychological, but suddenly my entire body has the chills just writing this post.
Thinking about eating a frozen strawberry instantly causes a chill to run down my back. It’s the same sensation I get when I hear someone chewing on ice. To me, that is one of the worst sounds in the world. I would rather hear nails on a chalk board than to hear someone chew ice.
Each time I hear or even think about someone chewing ice, I get goosebumps on my arms and the air around me drops several degrees. The same physical reaction happens with any frozen fruit.
I love to suck on frozen fruit, but couldn’t imagine chewing it. Lucky for all of us, I’ve created a list of quick frozen strawberry recipes that don’t require you to chew on a frozen berry! I’ve banned together with a few of my blogging friends to bring you a variety of things you can make with frozen strawberries.
If you’re anything like me, then every year, during strawberry season, you go strawberry picking. There is something satisfying about picking your own fresh strawberries. They are always juicer, tastier and oh so sweeter than anything you can get in the grocery store.
But the real question is what are some ways you can use frozen strawberries? This round up list of 23 Uses for Frozen Strawberries will get you excited for strawberry season! And don’t worry. If you aren’t into picking your own strawberries and freezing them, then you can them in the freezer section of your grocery store all year round!
In this list, you’ll find strawberry dessert recipes, ice cream, smoothies, pudding, strawberry sauce, lemonade and more!
IS IT OK TO EAT FROZEN STRAWBERRIES?
Yes it is! In fact, it’s more than OK! If you replace a high calorie snack with frozen fruit, then you’ll not only get your daily dose of fruit, but you’ll also get a healthy and delicious snack!
I used to work with someone who loved fruit as well as popsicles. One day he said he wished he could eat popsicles that didn’t contain any extra sugar as he was watching his weight. It was then that I suggested he should eat frozen fruit.
Growing up, I loved to eat frozen grapes. They were like bite sized Popsicle that I could suck on during the hot summer months. The concept of eating frozen fruit had never crossed his mind. After that day, he switched out traditional all fruit Popsicle with bowls of frozen fruit – no sugar added!
This works well with most fruit. Grapes, strawberries, watermelon, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cantaloupe and more are delicious frozen! They also make great ice cubes for your fruity drink!
HOW MANY CALORIES ARE IN FROZEN STRAWBERRIES?
One cup of frozen strawberries equals approximately 77 calories. If you’re counting your calories or watching what you eat, frozen strawberries make for a delicious snack! Another fun idea is to treat a frozen strawberry just like you would an all natural frozen Popsicle.
Really they should be called Mother Natures All Natural Strawberry Frozen Popsicle’s! Much healthier than anything you could get at the store and probably better tasting too!
HOW DO YOU DEFROST FROZEN STRAWBERRIES?
There are a variety of methods to thawing frozen strawberries. The intended use for those berries will ultimately decide which method is best.
If you are cooking or baking with them, then you don’t need to defrost them. However, if the recipe calls for frozen strawberries then it will have adjusted for the additional water content in the berry.
If you are thawing them for a non cooking purpose then the best way to thaw them is slowly. Remove as many berries as you need and put them on a plate or in a bowl. Cover with a towel or plastic wrap and allow berries to thaw in fridge for several hours. By thawing them slowly your berries will be firmer than a quick thaw berry.
If you are in a hurry you can always place your berries on a thawing plate or microwave. Just note that if you use the microwave your berries will be softer than a slow thaw berry.
DO FROZEN STRAWBERRIES LOSE NUTRIENTS?
No they do not! Freeze your berries and use then rather than let them rot and lose them! Wise words to live by!
SHOULD YOU WASH FROZEN FRUIT?
That choice is all up to you! Frozen fruit is washed before freezing, so all the dirt and grime should be gone. However there is no harm in washing them again! Just give them a quick rinse {if you want} before using them. However, remember, it’s not required.
IS SUGAR ADDED TO FROZEN FRUIT?
Typically no. If you freeze your own strawberries do not add extra sugar. If you buy frozen strawberries at the store then check your bag.
There are frozen sliced strawberries in sugar sold as well as non-sugared strawberries. If you do not want the extra sugar, then buy the plain frozen strawberries (this is what we do).
