How to Fix PS4 Beeping Issue

The following methods are offered by users. These methods are useful to them, but I can’t assure these methods fit for you.

1. Turn PS4 Off and On Again

Some users report that they have solved the PS4 beeping issue by turning the PS4 off and on again. Here are the steps:

• Switch off your PS4 by pressing [Power] > [Turn off PS4].
• Unplug the power, HDMI cables and DS4 power cable.
• Hold down the power button for 30 seconds until you hear two beeps.
• After five minutes plug the system back in and switch it back on.

Then, you should check whether the PS4 beeps still. If the problem persists, you should try the next method.

2. Install the Latest PS4 System Software Update

Although there is no user saying that he has solved the PS4 beeping issue by installing the latest PS4 system software update, I still list the method here, because this method is offered by Sony. Please refer to the following steps:

• To check the system software, go to [Settings] > [System Software Update].

3. Clean the Dust and Cover the Eject Button Sensor with Tape

Some people report that the PS4 beeping issue is caused by the eject button sensor and they solve the problem by loosening a screw under the faceplate, or by placing some old gaming boxes under the console to get the front off the ground.

In a word, they solve the problem by making the sensor not so sensitive. In this part, I will show you how clean the dust from the PS4 and cover the sensor with tape. Here are the steps:

Note: This method will void your warranty. If your device is in warranty, please don’t do this and send your PS4 to Sony for repairing.

Step 1: Remove the seal and screws under it. Then, remove the front fuselage shell with the Sony logo, the bottom panel.

Step 2: Clean dust from these panels and parts. On bottom of the PS4, you will see the sensor. Then, put a piece of tape over the golden sensor. After doing this, some people may start re-assembling the PS4, but some people will go on to clean the dust thoroughly.

Step 3: Remove the other front panel. Turn the bottom upside and remove the battery, the surrounding screws, and cables.

Step 4: Remove the hard drive and the front metal sheet. Then, take out the motherboard.

Step 5: Remove the metal sheet blocking the fan. Then, remove the fan and clean the dust.

Step 6: Reassemble the PS4 to see whether the problem is solved.
