I had a recent stay where I checked out on a Sunday, and the charge didn't hit my Amex Aspire til Tuesday. Guessing the weekend processing / banks being closed adds time. LOL, relax man, you gave them your card at check-in, there's nothing even remotely fraudulent about this and there's no requirement to "settle the bill" before leaving or anything like that. They will just charge your card after check-out, sometimes this happens immediately and other times it can take 2, 3, 4 days before everything is settled. No reason to even call at this point. In that position, I audited the night audit and submitted the credit card charges to the bank for processing. I once took a few days off for vacation. Upon returning, I discovered the person covering for me hadn't done that last step of submitting the charges. I had to do an extra step and re-authorize everything, but ultimately it wasn't a huge issue. The outcome was that the credit card charges were a few days later than normal. No clue if that's what happened here, but it's possible. There are plenty of other scenarios as to why your bill wasn't charged immediately. And I concur with other folks. There's zero chance this error made by the hotel will affect you in any manner. Semi-Related: Anecdotally, I charged an airline ticket to our debit card yesterday and the charge still hasn't posted (not even pending), even though it's ticketed on Southwest Airlines. I know it will eventually show up . If a business makes an error in your favor after you made a good faith effort to pay, then there is no fraud. Slightly off topic, but my partner and I once had a six day rental from Hertz at LAS. Upon getting to the rental center, his name and bin# was on the President's Circle board. We picked up a different car than the one assigned (as you can do with President's Circle) and went to the exit booth. Presented drivers license. The agent was on the computer for a few minutes....he finally told us the computer was down but that we were good to go. It never dawned on us during the week's rental that we had never been emailed a contract. Upon returning the car, as we were running late for our flight, we did as we have done countless times before, left the keys in the car and headed to the terminal without any interaction with a Hertz employee. Usually we get a receipt emailed before we have even boarded our flight. We never received an email receipt and his credit card was not charged. During our layover in DEN my partner called Hertz - the agent said there was no rental on record; we were listed as a no show. So obviously the agent at the booth never recorded our rental and when we returned the car and they scanned the barcode on the windshield, the car was probably listed as never being rented. We were long gone by that point. Turned out to be a $600 free rental! So again, no fraud - we made a good faith effort to pay! the810 likes this. rittenhousesq is offline rittenhousesq View Public Profile Find More Posts by rittenhousesq Post Options Old Sep 18, 2021 | 5:43 am #13 SK AAR FlyerTalk Evangelist Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: Denmark Programs: TK Elite Posts: 13,774 Quote: Originally Posted by indufan I can't even fathom taking the time to track this down.
