If you accidentally liked a post or just want to get rid of old likes from your account, Facebook makes it really easy to edit and remove them. Whether you’re removing post likes or unliking a page, you can access them all from your settings. Keep reading, and we’ll cover the quickest ways to delete your likes as well as hide reactions from anyone’s posts.
How to Edit Likes on Facebook
- Go to the page, comment, or post, click Liked, and change it to Unlike.
- To unlike a post on desktop, click your profile picture and go to Settings & privacy > Activity Log > My Facebook activity > Comments and reactions > Likes and reactions.
- To unlike something on mobile, go to your profile and tap the 3 dots next to your name, and then go to Activity Log > Your Facebook activity > Manage comments and reactions.
Steps
Section 1 of 4:How to Unlike Facebook Posts and Comments on Desktop
-
1 Click the reaction button on an individual post to unlike it. If you see the post in your feed already, move your cursor over the Liked button or other reaction you gave the post. Simply click on it to unlike it. - Unliking a post won’t notify the person who originally shared it.
-
2 To unlike multiple posts at once, click your profile picture at the top of Facebook. Locate your profile picture in the top right corner of the page. A menu will drop down. Advertisement -
3 Click Settings & privacy. This is usually the first listing on the menu next to an icon of a gear. Clicking it changes the menu to display more options. -
4 Click Activity log. You'll see this near the bottom of the menu listings. Doing so opens the Activity Log page in your settings to see all the interactions you’ve had.[1] -
5 Open the Your Facebook activity menu. Look on the left side of your screen for the menu option. This will open up all of your interactions on Facebook, including your likes. -
6 Click Comments and reactions. It's a tab on the left side of the page next to a thumbs-up icon. When you click it, all of the posts you’ve reacted to and commented on will appear on the main part of your screen. -
7 Click Likes and reactions. Check on the left side of the screen underneath the Comments and reactions heading. Click on Like and reactions to only see posts and comments you’ve reacted to. -
8 Select the posts and photos you want to unlike. If you want to unlike everything, click the All checkbox at the top of the right panel. If you just want to remove a few likes, click the checkboxes for each post or photo you want to unlike. - If you only want to unlike a single post, click on the 3 horizontal dots on the right side of the window.
-
9 Click Remove. The option will appear on the top right side of the page once you select a post. When you click Remove, all of your reactions from the selected posts will disappear. - You may need to confirm your password before your reactions are removed.

How to Unlike Facebook Posts and Comments on Mobile
-
1 Tap ☰ in the Facebook mobile app. Look for the menu option in the bottom-right corner of the screen (iPhone) or at the top of the screen with your profile picture (Android). A menu will appear. -
2 Tap your name. Select your name at the top of the menu. This will bring you to your profile page. -
3 Tap the three horizontal dots ••• . Look next to the "Edit Profile" button on the right side of the screen, and tap on the dots to open user settings. -
4 Tap Activity Log. The option appears in the list of Profile Settings near the middle of the page.[2] -
5 Tap Your Facebook activity. This expands a list of different interaction types, including your likes and comments. -
6 Tap Manage comments and reactions. Doing so opens a list of posts that you've liked, reacted to, and commented on. - If you only want to see your reactions to posts, tap on Comments and reactions and select Likes and reactions from the new dropdown menu.
-
7 Tap the three dots next to a post or photo you've liked. Scroll down until you find the post or comment that you want to unlike. When you select the 3 dots, a menu will expand. - If you opened the Likes and reactions page and want to get rid of all your likes at once, check the box marked All at the top of the screen.
-
8 Tap Unlike or Remove Reaction. This removes the like or any other reaction you made from the selected post, comment, or photo. Advertisement
How to Remove Liked Pages on Facebook
-
1 Go to the Page you want to unlike. Start typing the name of the page you want to unlike into the Facebook search bar. When you see the page appear in the results, click or tap on it to open it.[3] - To find the Page, just start typing its name into the search bar, then tap it in the results.
- When you unlike a Page, you will no longer see posts from that Page on your feed and it won’t appear in the “Liked” section on your profile page.
-
2 Click or tap on Liked or Following at the top of the page. A button will appear at the top of the page that either says Liked with a thumbs-up icon, or it will say Following with a bell icon. When you click it, a new pop-up window will appear on your screen. -
3 Select Unlike this Page or Unfollow to update your settings. If the page only said “Following,” just click on the Unfollow option that appears in the top half of the window. If you liked the page, then click or tap on the Unlike this Page slider near the bottom of the window. When you’re finished, click Update to confirm unliking the page.[4] - This removes your like from the Page, so it’s removed from your profile, and updates will no longer appear on your home page.
-
4 Access the Activity Center in your settings to see and unlike multiple pages. If you don’t want to manually search for the pages you liked or think you’ve forgotten about an old page, the Activity Center on your profile shows all the pages you like and follow.[5] - Click on your profile picture in the top-right on desktop or Menu in the bottom-right on mobile.
- Tap Settings & Privacy.
- Select Settings.
- Scroll down and select Activity Log under the section marked “Your activity.”
- Click on Your Facebook Activity to open the dropdown menu.
- Choose Pages from the list.
- Find the Page you want to unlike and click the 3 dots to the right of the name.
- Click on Unlike or Unfollow when it appears.

How to Hide Facebook Post Reactions
-
1 Tap on your profile picture or the menu button. If you’re on a computer, click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen. On mobile, tap the 3 horizontal lines in the top-right on Android or on the bottom right on iOS.[6] - Hiding reactions on your page prevents people from seeing the total number of likes or other reactions on your posts when you want more privacy.
- Hiding reactions on other people’s posts lets you browse your feed without seeing the total likes on their posts. If you catch yourself checking how many likes your posts get compared to your friends, this setting can help you stop worrying about who gets more likes.
-
2 Select Settings & privacy. The Settings & privacy option is the first option in the dropdown menu with the gear icon. Once you click it, the dropdown will update with new menu options.[7] -
3 Choose Settings. Choose the Settings option with the gear icon from the updated list. Your account settings will load on screen. -
4 Select Reaction Preferences. Look through the menu options on the left side of the screen. Under the Preferences heading, choose the Reaction Preferences option to make changes.[8] -
5 Pick if you want to hide reactions on your posts or other people’s posts. If you want to hide the likes and reactions on posts on your profile, then select the On your posts and reels option. To hide the reactions on your friend’s posts, choose the On other people’s posts and reels option.[9] Advertisement
