Tampons are used during your period to soak up menstrual blood. You may be unsure of how to remove and dispose of your tampon properly, especially if you are trying to be discreet. You should follow the proper steps to removing and disposing of the tampon so your body is not at risk of health issues due to the tampon. You should also always use tampons safely to prevent the development of health problems due to tampon use.

How to Dispose of Tampons: A Quick Guide

Instead of flushing a tampon, wrap it in toilet paper and place it in the garbage. In a public bathroom, look for a disposal bin for sanitary products. If you’re camping or not close to a restroom, wrap the tampon in toilet paper and place it in a bag to dispose of later.
