Being ghosted by someone you never dated can sometimes hurt more than breaking up with your long-time girlfriend. 

Mainly because in a breakup, you are sure things have ended and you need to move on, unlike 'ghosters', who leave you wondering what went wrong and whether they are just busy or deliberately not texting back.

Well, the truth is their battery didn’t die for months, nor did they get ‘caught up with urgent work’ but they simply ignored you and didn’t have the decency to tell you. 

What’s worseis that some of the ghosters try to sneak back into your life as if nothing happened after days, weeks or months of no contact.

Why does a ghost return? Didn’t they make it clear they have got nothing to do with you? 

Well, here are 5 possible reasons why. 

Before you say FO to her, here is why she could have back and what this ‘dating zombie’ could want from you:

1. She’s Bored

She probably ghosted you because she was bored and was looking for something more fun and exciting and she is probably back now because she is bored now and reached out to see if you are still hung up on them or interested. 

This would come in the form of a cold and stale text like ‘Hi’ or ‘Hey’.  

2. She Wants To Hook Up

If she ghosted you after you two casually hooked up once or twice and pops up out of nowhere saying she misses you, it translates to that she misses the sex. 

While it’s great and if you are up for it, respond, but make the boundaries clear. Otherwise, you may not hear from her after your next hookup again which isn’t fair to you.  

3. She Is Tired Of Meeting New Guys

Dating is hard. 

Maybe she is realising it now when she isn’t clicking with anyone, not meeting good guys or simply tired of going through the 'what's your favourite colour’ phase all over again for the hundredth time. 

You feel like a safe option who already fell for her and so she is trying to crawl back into your life.  

4. She Got Dumped/Ghosted Herself

She ghosted you, met someone new who dumped her and now she is seeking comfort and love from you (because you made the mistake of giving her before). 

In this case, she just wants to boost her ego and convince herself she is no less. A rebound is all you are to her.  

5. She Misses The Attention

A narcissistic trait that probably prompted her to ghost you just to see how you’d react. 

But after getting no response or pleading texts (which she might be used to), she now comes back to hog more attention. 

Chances are she will ghost you again so better stay away.

6. She Misses You, Genuinely

There are some who come back because they are genuinely regretful and miss you. 

They might not have the heart to tell you that they wanted out but now realise that you two could have been something if she didn’t pull the plugs abruptly. 

You’ll know if she is here to stay this time if she apologises and means it. If you think it’s a pattern and she is here for the aforementioned reasons, by all means, say FO and block her.
