5 Things you should know before jumping into water
1. What lies beneath

Be careful jumping in the ocean
Know what’s under the surface and how deep the water is before you jump. If you have a general idea you can reduce your changes of injury.
It’s a good idea to pick a spot someone else has successfully jumped.
Remember that when jumping into the ocean, the tide can affect the depth of the water.
2. It’s not Charmin

A water landing is anything but soft. Think of water as liquid concrete. Water does not absorb the blow when you fall from a great height.
If you land wrong, you’ll feel like you hit a brick wall.
3. Fast and furious

You fall faster than you think
You gain speed as you fall.
Jumping or falling from 30 feet means you could land in the water at 30 mph.
4. Make like a pencil

Jump feet first into the water
The safest way to land (or jump) into water is with your arms pressed firmly against your sides in a pencil dive position.
Keep your body tight and point your feet down.
5. Zip and zip it good

Don’t let the flies or water in…
Your natural inclination is to take a deep breath in when you land into water. Fight that impulse and keep your mouth shut.
Hope these 5 tips help you before you jump or fall into water from a great height.
