Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson serves as a producer on the Starz gangster series Power, helping to launch the show which has become a global phenomenon. The series has been hailed for its diverse cast and onscreen representation while refusing to shy away from the violence and unsavoury side of this dangerous way of life. As well as being a producer, 50 Cent also took on the role of Kanan Stark, one of the vilest characters in Power who went so far as to murder his own son.

50 Cent is now working on a raft of television projects, including overseeing the new spin-off series in Power including Book II: Ghost, Power III: Raising Kanan, Book IV: Force and Book V: Force.

Although Kanan may have died in Power, he could make some kind of appearance in one of the spin-offs in a flashback or a cameo.

He is also working on his other series For Life in which he plays Cassius Dawkins.

50 Cent serves as an executive producer on For Life, which was hit by the coronavirus pandemic.

IMDb has the star down to next appear in a project called Den of Thieves 2: Pantera which is in pre-production right now.

According to Google, 50 Cent is 6ft or 1.83m but Celebrity Heights has him down as 5ft 11in or 1.82.

The star was born in South Jamaica, New York and tried to launch his music career in the late Nineties.

However, his breakthrough eventually came in 2003 with his hit song In Da Club which propelled him into the spotlight.

His debut album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ lead to strong reviews from the critics with the star later winning Grammys, Brit Awards, MOBOs and MTV Awards, along with many other accolades.

50 Cent was discovered by Eminem, who served as his mentor and he went on to work with Dr Dre, Nate Dogg and many other prominent figures within the hip hop and r’n’b world.

The star’s rise to success really was a story of rags to riches which started with the death of his drug dealer mother at the age of eight.

He ended up selling drugs aged 12 before purchasing a gun when he was 15. Later, aged 25 he was shot nine times but survived the attempt on his life.

However, he has now very much established himself through his various ventures which also includes being a businessman and an author.

Earlier this year, he released his book Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter which serves as a self-help guide.

50 Cent has very much become a key player within the world of television thanks to Power and now For Life.

In fact, he even got a highly coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year.

He has also continued to write and produce music for the Power franchise, particularly Book III, which focuses on his alter-ego’s younger years.

Speaking to USA Today previously about the message of Power, 50 Cent said: “Each of the characters in this series is going after their own personal power.

“Or what they feel is connected to it: the financial freedom, or just positioning themselves in a way where they're doing what they want, when they want, how they want. That’s a universal language.”

He teased the other spin-offs gave the chance to introduce some “really good actors” to the Power family but didn’t say too much about how some of the characters would be appearing in the new shows.
