My whole family paints! No, not all the time, but we love a good snow day to let our creative juices flow. I encourage YOU to spend part of your days off creating something new, too! For FUN! Picture Here is a Lotus Flower I painted on Feb. 7th, AKA our Snow Without Snow Day. I was inspired by a candle holder shaped like a lotus flower. Besides the form of the flower, the remainder I just imagined!

January 30-31, 2018 - WELCOME SEMESTER 2 ART STUDENTS!

On our first day of art, we got to know each other, discussed classroom expectations and procedures, and began our first drawing assignment. We completed an "Get to Know You" worksheet (below) and took home an Art Packet to our parents (below). The drawing assignment that we began was called "What is the Big Picture?" (also below).

A Day Students: Sorry I am absent, but my daughter is sick. (No, I'm not home because of the volleyball game last night!) Continue and FINISH your Scream Parody after watching my video demonstration. Each table will get a blue tote caddy with three optional dry mediums (Prismacolor Pencils, Oil Pastels, and Chalk Pastels). When using chalk or oil pastels, please put down newspaper and clean up after yourself. SHARE at your table, and make sure to return the art mediums to the blue caddy in the condition you found them (or better!)To complete your Scream Parody, do the following:1) Create a drawing that is CLEARLY SIMILAR to "The Scream."2) Be sure to change at least ONE MAJOR PART of "The Scream" for comic effect (humor!).3) Color the ENTIRE paper and layer color and/or mediums to create a rich, finished look.4) Work carefully and control your materials for expressive, yet neat, results!When finished, turn your work. Be sure that your name is clearly labeled on the back! THEN, CREATE A MONA LISA PARODY (worksheet). You MUST create a Mona Lisa Parody if you finish your Scream Parody before clean up time!
