The mechanism just wouldn't go back far enough for a bb to drop onto the magnet. After attempting to get it loaded several times I was finally able to at great effort...it is very difficult to pull back all the way. At this point, I pumped it 3 or 4 times and tried firing. The air didn't release and the bb remained in the chamber, but the trigger pulled. So I tried again, but this time I only pumped it twice, because I could tell the first 3 or 4 were still in there. It still didn't release. I have removed the bb and tried several more times.Pulling the trigger with it pumped or not is just like pulling the trigger without pumping it.I'm afraid to try taking it apart, since I've got 7 or 8 pumps stored and it's really new, so it doesn't leak.Any help is much appreciated! They aren't too horribly complicated but if it is still under warranty it might be worth going that route...There isn't much risk taking it apart with it pumped up, only the valve is pressurized and it is inside the tube... If you end up wanting to take it apart, if it is an older style with a separate butt stock unscrew that through the grip first then remove the screws holding the receiver halves together (if it's newer, the whole thing is a clam shell...). When separating the receiver halves there is a possibility that the trigger parts will scatter, but don't worry, it's not as bad as it looks... Everything is meant to be installed in the left half for assembly so push on the trigger blade and safety gently while separating the halves and you might have better success, the bolt also has to be all the way forward if memory serves for bolt handle clearance. At this point you should be able to see how everything works, as mentioned above the trigger has a bar that disables the trigger if the bolt is pulled back which the trigger spring pushes against. It's been a while since I've been in one, and I can't visualize your exact problem or if the whole thing will disassemble itself once you get this far...My guess on your problem is the hammer is caught up or the cocking pin for the hammer is jammed into the bolt or something. That wasn't it, so I pulled it back as hard as I could and it went just the slightest bit farther back than it had last night and fired. Where is the best place to grease the bolt? I left it out on our porch and I think it's dry and dusty.Thank you all so much for the help! Early in my voyage into GTA and airguns I did post a thread about running off a stray cat with a bb pistol... I was soon brought into the light and the error of my ways was soon corrected. Just one more reason to be grateful. Logged - From deep within the Rabbit Hole, Alabama

I should have said feral cats. These cats do not have a home and regularly breed under our sheds, mate in our yard and fight everywhere. These cats have more dreadlocks than a reggae festival. I'm not attempting a kill shot...this is a teachable moment I'm providing for these cats. They'll live, but avoid our house. Cats are the most unloyal pet known to man. Have little fluffy a lot of years, get married, have a couple kids and cat leaves and moves in with nabours. Good riddance Fluffy! What you do on your property is your business. What you post / discuss on the forum is mine. So, please refrain from any further discussion of shooting things that shouldn't be, and get back to the original subject, before I have to lock the thread. Up here in north central Arizona we have no stray cats at all, and indoor pet cats that get outside and get lost will last two or three days tops. There's some animal rescue that will trap, neuter, and release feral cats, but I can't remember which one it is right now. Logged Matt_p_murphy Re: 760 pumpmaster won't release air « Reply #13 on: April 16, 2017, 02:34:26 PM » Yeah, I'm not sure if all of Tucson has the same problems, but our neighborhood has a LOT of ferals. I have about a 5ft x 5ft area of grass with black and white fur covering it from the brawl the other night that brought me outside. As far as the capturing of the cats, I read that it's all up to the homeowner. Animal control won't come out, they won't keep them, spay/neuter them or euthanize them unless you pay for it. So, if I were to capture these cats, it would literally cost hundreds to thousands to control them. If you take them out of the area (however that may be) others will move in, due to what they call the vacuum effect. If you sterilize and release, there's no vacuum effect. I just don't want all the cat @$%^, kitten carcasses, cat hair, cat fights, etc...happening in my back yard. I don't want, nor can I afford, to capture and sterilize these filthy cats. So I scare them. Logged avator Re: 760 pumpmaster won't release air « Reply #14 on: April 16, 2017, 04:03:33 PM » That's all understood but what about the 760? Any progress?
