After dropping one bombshell after another on us in the Season 3 finale, Manifest was canceled, leaving so much unresolved.
While creator Jeff Rake tweeted that he’s “hoping to find a new home” because “you the fans deserve an ending to your story,” we can’t bank on that happening. So for now, we have to assume that Angelina (Holly Taylor) killing Grace Stone (Athena Karkanis) and stealing baby Eden, Cal (Jack Messina, then Ty Doran) returning as the age he would have been if he hadn’t been on Flight 828 (and therefore disappeared for five and a half years), and Captain Daly (Frank Deal) appearing then disappearing (again) with the plane wreckage is it.

Scroll down for the questions we have about those cliffhangers and more loose threads for Manifest.
How will Ben and the rest of the Stones handle Grace's death?
Cal was with his mother when she died. Olive (Luna Blaise) was pounding on a locked door, knowing that Angelina was a threat to her family. Ben (Josh Dallas) had a Calling and as a result of that message, knew something happened, but he didn’t know at the end of the episode that his wife was killed.
What happened to Cal?
Cal giving up those years and aging was his “sacrifice,” Rake told TV Insider. But we don’t know quite what he went through exactly or what it means for him going forward. It’s something he did for everyone, not just his family or the passengers.
Will the Stones get baby Eden back?
Angelina is somewhere with Eden. We can assume that the Stones would have saved her in a fourth season, but what would it have taken for them to do so? And what would Ben have been willing to do, especially after Angelina killed his wife?
Will the passengers survive their death date?
Zeke (Matt Long), who also returned (but not as part of Flight 828), survived his by following the Callings (and became a sort of empath). But then they all learned that their fates are intertwined when the Meth Heads all died as a result of one of their misdeeds. Considering the 828ers are divided — Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) has been leading the anti-Ben charge — do they stand a chance?
How will the Jared-Michaela-Zeke love triangle be resolved?
Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh) and Zeke’s marriage may seem to be on the rocks after he witnessed her and her ex Jared (J.R. Ramirez) talking in the finale, but it’s not quite as simple as that. “Michaela is deeply conflicted,” Rake acknowledged, but don’t expect anyone to walk away. If the series had continued, there would have been “much more heartache and tension.”
Where did Captain Daly and the plane go?
Captain Daly popped back up — in Flight 828’s wreckage in Eureka — in the finale before disappearing again, with the plane. “Captain Daly has been exactly where the passengers as a group were for those five and a half years. Captain Daly has been exactly where Cal was from the end of Episode 312 when he disappears to when he returns right there at the very end of the season finale,” Rake said. “What that place is I’m gonna let Cal speak to that when we come back in Season 4. I’m going to let Ben chew on that and use that information to try to navigate where to go forward.”
Has Saanvi been completely redeemed?
Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) may not have turned herself in for the Major’s (Elizabeth Marvel) murder, but considering she, too, had a Calling — after not having one for quite some time — in the finale, there appears to be hope for her. But was that just the first step for her redemption?
What exactly is going on?
That’s pretty much what we wondered at the end of every episode of Manifest, as slowly, more and more was revealed about what happened to those on Flight 828 and others who returned from presumed death. And until we have all the answers, it will remain one of our major questions.
