This is a FAKE home-buying or business opportunity scam, spoofing a Walmart name on Caller ID. This fake "we buy homes/land in your area for cash" scam is from madarchod criminals phoning from India. The scammer asks for your credit card or bank account number "so they can deposit your (fake) cash payment" for your home or land. The scammers ask for your Social Security number using a fake excuse that they need to verify your identity. This scammer often asks for you by your name to sound like a personal phone call to gain your trust, but they are auto-dialing everyone. Scammers use huge phone database listings of millions of names with phone numbers and addresses to have the autodialer display the name that is currently dialed. In legitimate real estate transactions, money should flow from buyer to seller. But one common tactic of these home-buying scams is for the scammer to say that you need to first pay $300 to $2000 for "administrative" or "processing" fees. This "you need to pay processing fees" lie is also used in "you won a free vacation/cruise/lottery/sweepstakes" scams. People who are desperate to sell their homes are common victims of these scams. If you sell your home to a legitimate investor, they will not ask you to pay extra commission, processing, or administrative fees compared to selling a home with a realtor. A legitimate real estate investor writes you an offer, free of any charges that you have to pay in advance. You then have the option and the time of accepting the offer. Scammers pressure you to make a decision on the first call. Fake real estate scams offer to buy your property without looking at it in person, giving the excuse that they have already seen it on the internet. Sellers whose houses require repairs often fall victim to this "no personal visit needed" lure of selling their homes to someone without spending money on repairs. This Indian scammer also runs a massive health insurance, pharmacy, and Medicare healthcare scam to steal your credit card, Medicare and Social Security numbers, and personal information to commit Medicare fraud and identity theft under the pretense of saying that they will help you obtain health insurance, Medicare supplement plans, and life insurance. Another scam used by this scammer is an Allstate, Farmers, State Farm impersonation insurance scam. About 50% of North America scam calls come from India and 45% come from the Philippines. Foreign scammers run thousands of fraud, extortion, money laundering scams every day such as posing as a fake pharmacy, fake Social Security officer saying your benefits are suspended, IRS officer collecting on fake unpaid back taxes, debt collector threatening you for fake unpaid bills, fake bank/financial/FedEx/UPS/DHL scams, posing as utility/phone/internet companies, pretending to offer fake health insurance, car warranty, student loan forgiveness, credit card and debt consolidation services, posing as Amazon to falsely say an unauthorized purchase was made to your credit card, posing as Microsoft/Dell/HP/Apple to say your account has been hacked or they detected a virus on your computer, fake "we are refunding your money" or "your account has been auto-debited" scams, fake Google/Alexa listing scams, fake solar panel and home purchase offers, fake fundraisers asking for donations, fake phone surveys, and the scammers try to steal your financial and personal data. Indian scammers often rotate through fake tech support, subscription auto-renewal, and fake pharmacy scams on the same day. Filipino scammers run many loan and tax/debt relief, Social Security and Medicare identity theft, auto/home/health/life insurance, and fake charity donation scams. Scammers use disposable VoIP phone numbers (e.g. MagicJack) and telecom software to spoof fake names and numbers on Caller ID. Scammers spoof thousands of fake 8xx toll-free numbers. CID is useless with scam calls unless the scam asks you to phone them back. CID area codes are never the origin of scam calls since scams use spoofed CID numbers from across the US/Canada, numbers belonging to unsuspecting people, invalid area codes, and fake foreign country CID numbers; e.g. fake women crying "help me" emergency scams spoof Mexico and Middle East CID numbers. Scammers often spoof the actual name and number of businesses such as banks to trick you into thinking the call is valid. How can you avoid being scammed by phone calls? NEVER trust any unsolicited caller who: sells something (most unsolicited calls are scams so your odds of saving money are very poor); asks for your Medicare or Social Security number; offers debt relief, loan services, Medicare assistance (people who are old or desperate in debt often fall for scams); offers a free gift/reward; threatens you with arrest/lawsuit; asks you to access a website, download a file, wire transfer money or buy prepaid debit/gift cards; claims your account is frozen or has suspicious activity; says a subscription is refunded or auto-renewed/auto-debited; and all recorded messages. Recordings are far more likely to be malicious scams and not just telemarketer spam. All unsolicited callers with foreign accents, usually Indian or Filipino, are mostly scams. No other countries are infested with phone room sweatshops filled with criminals. Most Filipino scammers speak better English than Indian scammers. Filipinos speak English with a subtle accent that may sound Hispanic. To hide their foreign origin, some India scammers use non-Indians in their phone room. Scams often falsely say that you previously contacted them or visited their website. Indian scammers play fake Amazon recordings. Amazon account updates are emailed, not robo-dialed. Many banks use automated fraud alert calls to confirm a suspicious purchase, but always call the number printed on your credit card to verify if the fraud alert is real or fake. Scammers impersonate phone/cable/internet companies, offering fake discounts or service upgrades. Indians impersonate the IRS and Social Security Administration. The IRS/SSA never make unsolicited calls and never threaten to arrest you; they initiate contact via postal mail. Real lawsuits are not phoned in, especially not using recorded threats lacking details; legal notices are mailed/couriered. The police, FBI, DEA never phone to threaten arrest; they show up in person with a warrant. Scammers try to gain your trust by saying your name when they call; your name, address, birthday are public data. Many scammers, especially female Filipinas, use "romance scam" tactics of sounding really friendly as if they are your best friend or lover to try to gain your affection and trust, hoping that you let your guard down so they can easily steal your identity and money. Scammers often play recordings speaking English, Spanish, or Chinese that is easily generated using text-to-speech translation software to disguise the origin of their overseas phone room. Some speech synthesis sound robotic, but most AI speech sound very realistic. Scammers often use interactive voice response (IVR) AI/NLP software that combines voice recognition with artificial intelligence, speaks English with American voices, and responds based on your replies. IVR calls begin with: "This is fake_name, I am a fake_job_title on a recorded line, can you hear me okay?"; or "Hi, how are you doing today?"; or "Hello? Are you there?"; or "Hi, may I speak to your_name?" IVR quickly asks you a short question to elicit a yes/no reply so it hangs up if it encounters voicemail. One myth is that saying "yes" to IVR lets scammers use your voice sample for other scams. IVR understands basic replies and yes/no answers. To test for IVR, ask "How is the weather there?" since IVR cannot answer complex questions. IVR usually transfers you to the scammer, but some scams entirely use IVR with the robot asking for your credit card or SSN. Phone/email scams share two common traits: the CID name/number and the "From:" header on emails are easily faked, and the intent of scam calls is malicious just as file attachments and website links on scam emails are harmful. Scams snowball for many victims. If your personal/financial data are stolen, either by being scammed, visiting a malicious website, or by a previous data breach of a business server that stores your data, then your data gets sold by scammers on the dark web who will see you as fresh meat and prey on you even more. This is why some receive 40+ scam calls everyday while others get only 0 to 2 calls per week. If you provide your personal data to a phone scammer, lured by fake 80%-discounted drugs or fake loan and debt services, you receive even more phone scams and identity theft can take years to repair. Scammers often shout profanities at you. Google "Hindi swear words" and memorize some favorites, e.g. call him "Randi Ka Beta" (son of whore) or call her "Randi Ka Betty" (daughter of whore). Scammers ignore the National Do-Not-Call Registry. Asking scammers to stop calling is useless. Scam recordings often tell you to press a keypad number to be placed on their Do-Not-Call list or to unsubscribe from their scam texts/emails, but those keypad commands are fake and they say that just to sound legit. Scammers often provide a toll-free callback number to look like a real business, but they regularly shed old callback numbers so you can never reach the scammers once you have realized that you were scammed. Scammers tell you their callback number just to gain your trust long enough to steal your identity and money and then they frequently switch to using new callback numbers. You do these scammers a favor by quickly hanging up. YOU SHOULD SCAMBAIT ALL SCAMMERS - slowly drag scammers along on the phone call, provide fake personal and financial data (16 random digits starting with 4 for Visa, 5 for MasterCard), ask them to speak louder and repeat what they said to waste their time and energy.

Walmart has been charging customers for Walmart plus without their consent. This happened to me. I alerted my bank and issued stop payment for the unauthorized charge. Walmart is calling trying to convince me that I need the Walmart plus at $106 per year! I do not want it and did not authorize the charge to my bank account. This is all over social media that Walmart has been doing this. Customers be warned!

I think this is becoming a thing. It happened to us today, and by judging here and elsewhere on the net, quite a few other people. While "Walmart" and "(800) 966-6546" appeared in the screen, instead it was somebody jammering on about a home-based business and selling insurance. Maybe he got our number from one of those help-wanted sites? In any case, this telemarketer knows how to spoof Walmart's number on the call screen.

We received TWO calls from this number today claiming to be recruiting a member of our household for a home-based business. Both people they were "recruiting" are 13 years old (twins). We received two calls 4 hours apart. While the number says "walmart.com" it is definitely a scam. When I questioned the woman and asked why she was recruiting my underage children she was rude and immediately hung up on me. Total SCAM!

Because with the health insurance i asked them to take me off the list and they keep calling. My bank ended up putting a fraud hold and im glad they did because now I found out these scammers are trying to get all my info to take my money. The government needs to do something to get this to stop. This is ridiculous

Fake "National Disability Services" Social Security scam call by madarchod criminals phoning from India This is a fake "National Disability Services" Social Security benefits scam call by criminals phoning from India, trying to steal your credit card number, Social Security number, and personal information by saying that they will help you obtain Social Security disability benefits. The scammer begins the call by saying your name to try to gain your trust. It is easy to acquire huge phone database listings of millions of names associated with phone numbers and addresses. If you decline their fake scam, they sometimes threaten you, saying that you need their fake insurance or else you can be arrested or fined, and many India scammers shout profanities and death threats at you. More than 95% of all North America phone scams originate from crowded phone rooms in India that rotate through numerous different fraud, extortion, and money laundering scams every day such as pretending to be a fake pharmacy, posing as fake Social Security officers saying your benefits are suspended or fake IRS officers collecting on fake unpaid back taxes or fake bill collectors threatening you for fake unpaid debts, pretending to offer fake health insurance, car warranty, and debt, student loan forgiveness, credit card consolidation services, posing as Amazon to falsely say that an unauthorized purchase was made to your account or that your Prime membership was auto-debited from your credit card or bank account, posing as Microsoft or HP to say that your software needs renewal or they detected a problem with your computer, fake "we are refunding your money" or "your account has been auto-debited" scams, fake Google/Alexa listing and work-from-home scams, pretending to be DHL, UPS, or a bank, falsely stating that they installed ransomware virus on your computer and you need to pay them money, etc, and the scammers try to steal your credit card, bank account and routing number, or Social Security number and personal information. Some scammers try to gain your trust by looking up the name associated with your phone number and asking for you by name when they call. Many India scammers now phone you with an initial pre-recorded robotic person speaking English, Spanish, or Chinese that is easily generated using text-to-speech translation software to disguise the origin of their India phone room, but then you speak to the East Indian scammer when you take the bait and respond to the pre-recorded message. Scammers always either use disposable VoIP phone numbers (e.g. MagicJack devices) or they spoof fake Caller ID phone numbers. Anyone, including you, can use telecom software or a third-party service to phone using fake names and phone numbers that show up on Caller ID. India scammers often spoof fake toll-free Caller ID numbers that begin with "8". The Caller ID name and number is often useless with scam calls unless the scam setup asks you to phone them back and the Caller ID area code is almost never the area from which the scam call actually originated since many scams use fake area codes from across the U.S. and Canada, and also purposely faked foreign country Caller ID numbers (e.g. fake women crying "help me" emergency scams often use fake Mexico and Middle Eastern Caller ID numbers). Some India scammers also spoof the actual real phone numbers of businesses such as Apple, Verizon, and U.S. banks so when you phone the number back, you realize that you were scammed from the spoofed Caller ID number of the actual business. What is the best way to avoid being scammed by a phone call? Never trust any unsolicited caller or anyone who phones you with any kind of sales offer (more than 90% of unsolicited sales calls are scams so your odds of saving money are poor), any kind of legal or arrest threats, any claims of suspicious activity on an account, any claims of refunds or auto-renewed/auto-debited accounts, and any pre-recorded messages. Any unsolicited caller with a foreign accent (nearly always East Indian) should immediately be treated as a scam until carefully proven otherwise. India scammers do not care about the U.S. National Do-Not-Call Registry and asking scammers to stop calling has no effect. I love to play with these scammers and keep them on the phone by pretending to be interested in their scam because many scam victims are the senile elderly. You do these scammers a favor by yelling at them and immediately hanging up. But you ruin their scams by slowly dragging them along on the phone call, calling them back if their phone number can be phoned, pretending to be interested in their product or service, pretending that you are worried when they threaten you, always giving them fake credit card numbers and fake personal information, asking them to speak louder and to repeat what they said to use up more of their energy, pretending to innocently ask the scum why he is shouting profanities at me, etc. The best defense against phone scammers is a good offense by not quickly hanging up the phone, but instead toying with them for at least 10 or 20 minutes to use up more of their time and energy so they have less time to deceive an elderly victim. Never give an unknown caller your credit card number or Social Security number. Companies who already have your information may ask for the last four digits for verification. Some India scammers ask for your bank account and routing number or ask you to wire transfer them a payment, giving a fake explanation that they cannot accept a credit card or personal check. This is an instant scammer alert because scammers can withdraw money if they know your bank account and routing number (e.g. counterfeit cashed checks) and illegal wire transfers are far less traceable than unauthorized credit card charges. India scammers may threaten to have you arrested, but the IRS, Social Security Administration, and debt collectors cannot threaten to arrest or sue you on the phone; they are required to send you paper notices by registered mail. The police and FBI also will never phone you and say that officers are coming to arrest you (many India extortions threaten to send officers); if the police really want to arrest you, they just show up with a warrant without phoning first. Some India scammers ask you to use your browser to visit a website that allows the scammer to directly access and control your computer and then they can install a ransomware virus to extort money from you, or they ask you to download a virus file to your computer. If the scam sounds very authentic, ask the scammer for their verifiable company name, street address, and a callback number that can be searched and matched to the company name and address, which all real businesses will provide. Every East Indian scammer will immediately fail this test since they all use spoofed fake Caller ID numbers or VoIP numbers that they quickly dispose of. Never trust any unsolicited call because they are mostly scammers, usually with a slight or strong East Indian foreign accent, and most scam calls originate from India. No other foreign country is infested with numerous noisy sweatshops filled with phone scam criminals who belong to the lowest India caste and many are thieves, robbers, and rapists who were serving jail sentences but released early due to prison overcrowding. Most India scammers are men, but many are women who also readily shout profanities. Just laugh at them. Google "Hindi swear words" and memorize some favorites to piss on these scammers, e.g. call him "Rundi Ka Bacha" (son of a whore) or call her "Rundi Ki Bachi" (daughter of a whore).

The caller ID was Walmart, But they’re Spoofing the Walmart name, This is not Walmart calling, it’s a SCAN so that you release private info, They wanted my email after asking for my first name, to send me, making money at home material. Do not offer anyone your info, unless you’re expecting a call.And when they call and want to connect your call with a professional, Put your phone on Speaker, and watch the majority of Scammers hang up.

It starts with "Dear Citisen, this is to notify you..." which is where I hung up. I did call WalMart earlier but this was clearly a spam/scam call. Why would WalMart lend its phone number to scammers - or employ CS people overseas who turn around and scam customers?

I’m sure the caller is a scam. Been calling me since this morning. I’ve also been receiving calls from different numbers (some are the same) for 3 days now. It started when I picked up scam call and I’ve been receiving phone calls from which I believe is the same guy who scam called me but is using different numbers to reach me. I have my phone set where scam calls go start to voicemail but I still get notifications that the scam callers called. I am fed up

Telemarketer

Caller from 1(800)966-6546 claimed he was from "National Disabilities Association" and said I asked for info on claiming Social Security benefits. After telling him no I didn't and to remove my number from their list, he called back 3 more times. Then I got a robocall, from (307)248-7521, on the same subject, with a female voice (recording) saying I wanted to file for disability. I said no I don't and they ended the call. They are expecting people to say 'yes' to their questions; 'Can you hear me ok' is the main question. DON'T SAY YES TO ANYTHING ON THESE CALLS!!! They can use a recording of your response to gain access to bank accounts, personal information, just about anything they want.
