Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) is an independent public health charity set up by the Royal College of Physicians to end the harm caused by tobacco.

After 50 years' successful campaigning this goal is within our grasp, but only if the inequalities in smoking across society are addressed. The Government has pledged to achieve a Smokefree England by 2030, when fewer than one in 20 people smoke; our mission now is to ensure that no groups are left behind.

Help for smokers wanting to quit is available from the NHS.
