About District 1 | Prince George's County Legislative Branch, MD

District 1 is the diverse most northern tip of Prince George’s County, home to unique neighborhoods filled with charm and character. District 1 is also home to the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC). The mission of the BARC is to provide the American public with an exceptionally talented, highly interdisciplinary scientific community in the USDA’s largest scientific installation, and leverage these resources to envision, create, and improve knowledge and technologies that enhance the capacity of the nation – and the world. District 1 also is home to Fairland Regional Park facilities. Councilmanic District 1 is comprised of Adelphi, Beltsville, Calverton, North College Park, Laurel, Montpelier, South Laurel, West Laurel and Vansville.
