Currently, Art Clay World USA, Inc is an eCommerce-only company, with our headquarters located in the western suburbs of Chicago. While we are unfortunately unable to offer classes or workshops on-site, we're extremely happy to help you find a teacher or place to take the course you're hoping for. Our open phone hours are Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm CST. Art Clay brand products are manufactured in Japan by Aida Chemical Industries. Aida Chemical Industries is a family owned company that recycles and reclaims metals, including gold, silver and copper. In 1991 Aida Research and Development obtained a patent for the manufacturing process for a metal clay, which became Art Clay. The clay, paste and syringe types were introduced to Japan in late 1992. The Aida Planning Department began to develop the books and other accompanying materials and, in April 1994, Art Clay Silver and Gold were officially introduced into the general public in Japan. Art Clay World USA, Inc. is the North American distributor of Art Clay, and you can click here for a list of links to other distributors.Art Clay products first appeared in the US in 1997, and were sold through Swest and Paragon Kilns. In 1999 Art Clay USA opened its offices in Torrance, California and began teaching the first Certification Classes. In January 2002, Art Clay USA became Art Clay World USA and moved its operations to Oak Lawn, Illinois which is just southwest of Chicago. On June 21, 2003 Art Clay World opened its new 9,500 square foot facility to the public. As of January 1, 2016, there are nearly 3000 certified instructors in the United States and Canada, and we continue to grow! You can reach us through our online contact form. In 2012 Art Clay World USA, Inc. opened its local education arm, The Greater Chicago Artisan Center, which offered classes in a multitude of media, including metal clay, polymer clay, ceramics, fused glass, chainmaille, resin, Ceralun epoxy, enameling and beading. They hosted parties, and worked with other local schools and scout troops to provide art classes that foster self reliance and self esteem.Sadly, following the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the GCAC was forced to close its doors in September 2022. Art Clay World USA, Inc. continues to thrive as an eCommerce-only company from our new location in the western suburbs of Chicago. We remain committed to providing the industry's best customer support, as well as supplies and services for local schools and art centers.
