About Visit Estes Park

Whether it’s a guest’s first—or hundredth—visit to Estes Park, every experience should feel magical and memorable, unlike any other destination. Visit Estes Park works with local, regional, and national partners to identify, promote, and deliver the experiences that make Estes Park a truly one-of-a-kind vacation destination. We are proud to be part of a community that values each guest’s personal experience and is dedicated to helping visitors create lifelong memories in Estes Park.

Visit Estes Park is the operating name of the Estes Park Local Marketing District (LMD) and serves as the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Estes Park, Colorado. The organization was formed in 2009 following voter approval within the Marketing District to establish a 2% lodging tax on short-term stays in lodging establishments and private homes used as short-term rental properties. Required Intergovernmental Agreements between the Town of Estes Park and Larimer County, as mandated by state law, formalized the structure and operations of the District.

Local Marketing District Tax

The Local Marketing District tax became effective on January 1, 2009 and applies in designated areas of Colorado to lodging accommodations rented for fewer than 30 days. This includes hotels, motels, condominiums, camping facilities, auto camps, trailer parks, and similar lodging services. The tax is charged to the guest and collected by the lodging provider. It is not a sales tax and is filed separately from the Colorado Combined Retail Sales Tax Return.

Mission

To attract guests to the District through effective and efficient destination marketing and management in order to drive year-round economic growth.

Vision

To be a year-round tourism, group, and event destination that supports a healthy mountain village—balancing financial success, positive and memorable guest experiences, environmental sustainability, and quality of life for our community.
