About RAM Trucks Australia

RAM Trucks Australia are the only RAM authorised importer and distributor of RAM Trucks for both the Australia and New Zealand markets. As at today, we are also the only RAM-authorised full-volume manufacturer of right-hand-drive RAM Trucks in the world. This means we are the only company that imports and distributes official export-spec left-hand-drive new vehicles directly from the RAM factory in the US and manufactures them to right-hand drive. We are supported by the technical expertise of the RAM Truck engineers in North America. Our detailed manufacturing process to right-hand-drive is second to none, carried out in a purpose-built, multi-million dollar OEM-grade production facility in Melbourne with stringent quality and control checks throughout the process. All of our vehicles are compliant with local Australian Design Rules for full-volume certification. The scale of our investment in quality, production, safety and engineering is significant and unmatched by anyone in Australia - and it results in the production of thousands of proven OEM quality, full-size right hand drive RAM trucks each year. Our 30,000+ existing customers can enjoy peace of mind knowing that their ASV (American Special Vehicles*) RAM is the real deal.

Our Trucks are manufactured in Australia, by Australians to meet Australian market demands. We provide more than just right-hand-drive vehicles redesigned and re-engineered to tow big loads across our big country, we employ top local engineers, designers and automotive technicians, as well as local component companies to work with us. Every truck is offered with a comprehensive three-year/100,000 km warranty^ (whichever comes first) and is backed by our RAM Trucks Australia authorised nationwide dealer network, as well as by Australasia's largest independent vehicle distributor.

The trucks arrive in Australia as a left-hand drive (LHD) vehicles and are then manufactured to right hand drive (RHD) at a purpose-built facility in Melbourne. The chassis and body are first separated before a re-engineered RHD specific steering system is fitted, then a new dashboard which was designed, developed and produced in Australia is installed along with a RHD-specific heating and ventilation system before the body and chassis are re-married to produce the final product. The work is so substantial that it requires production line levels of quality, fit and finish, and a height of engineering excellence way beyond a mere conversion.
