Its 91 so it definitely wont hurt. This requires a fairly large amount of work to remove and put back but here it is.... #1 · Dec 4, 2012 I did a search and couldnt find a picture so I thought I would post some up for the next poor guy that undertakes this job. Sort by Oldest first Oldest first Newest first Most reactions #2 · Dec 4, 2012 Image #3 · Dec 4, 2012 the expansion valve is mounted right up on the evaporator. Image #4 · Dec 4, 2012 If you ever wonder why your AC smells, take a look at how dirty mine was. Image #5 · Dec 4, 2012 You don't have to remove the dash to pull the evap core, just the glove box. #6 · Dec 4, 2012 Im cleaning up alot of stuff so the dash was already out. I cant picture how that is done with the dash in place, it must be really tough. Reaching the two bolts for the expansion valve and removing the upper cover would be a pain. Im glad the dash was out. #7 · Dec 4, 2012 It's really not that bad, you disconnect the two lines in the frunk that go to the evap. Then you remove maybe 7 total fasteners and the whole thing comes out as a unit with the plastic shells still attached. :) What freon did you use btw? #8 · Dec 4, 2012 Have not gotten that far yet. Im going to take the car in and get the system sucked out and refilled. #9 · Dec 4, 2012 R12 which is what that evap is designed for is very hard to find. You'd be best off refilling with R12. Did you flush all the lines and condenser? How about the compressor? I'm sorry if you have all of this covered already, I'd just hate for you to have to do all of this again. #10 · Dec 4, 2012 I put in a new condenser as well. What is the proper way to "flush" all of the lines? #11 · Dec 4, 2012 Remove the lines one by one and clean them individually. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yhG0Aramoo You have replaced the drier haven't you? #12 · Dec 4, 2012 Must get myself one of those ACME Typhoon air blow guns. #13 · Mar 2, 2017 I've got a musty smells coming from the vents. I'm going to pull the front wind shield cowl and give that a good washing as I can see bugs trapped in the mesh, and from all my readings it seems another culprit of stinky AC is the evaporator core. Do I have to discharge my coolant to pull the core out, and once its out what are some good methods of cleaning it? Insert Quotes Post Reply
