Description[]

Acid deals very low and slow tick, but with its high mobility and great range, more times than not, the enemy will burn to death before they can damage you, let alone oof you. While the slow tick doesn't seem like an issue, over time it adds up to lots of damage, and combined with its slip and blur powers, this is why you should fear Acid users. The graph below shows a simplified description of the Acid Magic:

Variants[]

Acid has two other variants that it shares its training zones with. Those two magics are shown below:

  • Generation 2: Corrosion This magic fits in nullification and even more burn and slip than Acid, at the cost of lower defense and range. A VERY SCARY MAGIC.
  • Altered: Radiation This magic fits in more damage, range, nullification, and slip at the cost of much lower mobility and no tick.

Powers[]

Acid specializes in very small bits of damage that add up over a long time. These powers generally have long range and great mobility, so Acid can chip away while the opponent slowly dies.

Skill Description Fire a series of acid rounds that deals burn damage. Summon 4 Walls of acid that surround you and deals damage when touched. Throw down a series of acid pods on the ground that explode after a delay. These pods also blur opponent's vision if caught in the explosion. Emit a huge blast of acid in front of you, causing burn damage. Summon a path of acid that when touched causes players to slip. Place down a pod of contained acid that when touched by you [or your teammates], launches you in the direction your camera is facing. Release a poison that engulfs an area in pulses, causing huge damage to those in it and blurs their vision as well as dealing burn damage.

Strategies and Playstyles[]

Fighting With Acid[]

Acid is a very territorial magic, and has high mobility, so make sure to use the mobility to your advantage. A good way to do this is to keep your distance and use Acid's high range and mobility to chip away at opponents and keep them from getting too close. Acid does take a lot of getting used to, but once you learn it, it is absolutely devastating. Acid does very well against any magic that cannot heal, but it struggles against magics like Healer, Blood Magic, Super Bolt, or Soul. Even with the healing, and even though it's slow, if you play Acid right, the slow tick will get the job done!

Fighting Against Acid[]

It's a race against the clock with Acid, as Acid deals lots of damage over a long time. Be sure to block the Acid Rounds and Blast, as both moves are what really do the damage. Also watch out for Acid Path, as that leads you vulnerable to getting comboed by the Acid. Poison Pulse is also very noticable, so be on the lookout for that, and when they just use Acid Walls and Pods, that's when you wait for the attack to end, and then go in for a hit. Strong magics against Acid are magics like Super Bolt, Blood Magic, Healer, and Soul, although Lightning, Geo Hunter, and Earth also get the job done. Just make sure to focus and don't let the Acid get an opening.

Trivia[]

  • Acid is one of four gen 1 magics that require ranks, with Plasma, Earth, and Lightning as the other three.
  • Acid is one of two magics that can blur vision, with Corrosion as the other magic.
  • Acid Blast has a deceptively large hitbox, being able to hit further than any other area based attack, even more so than Rock Pillars!
  • Acid Blast used to deal 5 damage per tick in Update 5, but this was reduced to 4 for unknown reasons.
  • Acid Path used to deal 8 damage in Update 5, but this was roughly doubled to 15 in Update 6.
  • Acid used to require the Hex Master Rank in Update 5.
  • Acerbic tells the player about the Acid Walls + Acid Pods combo, but motions that they don't mention Marm that he told the player.
  • Acerbic also burps while talking as if he's intoxicated from his use of Acid while completing his Acid Quests.
