Still family-owned and operated four generations later, we’re a passionate crew of fish lovers dedicated to bringing exceptional flavor to every table. From our flagship brand Acme to Blue Hill Bay, Ruby Bay, Spence & Co., and Great American, our products can be found nationwide—from deli counters and bagel shops to some of the best restaurants in the country.   Bridges are part of a New Yorker’s sense of place. We refer to them the way other places talk about streets — the Brooklyn Bridge, the GWB, the Whitestone. They connect us to each other and are part of the backdrop of life in this city. Across New York City there are more than 2,000 bridges, carrying everything from commuters to the trucks that keep our neighborhoods supplied. This morning, one of our customer’s trucks is rolling over the Leggett Avenue Bridge in the Bronx — a crossing familiar to many of businesses operating in that borough’s industrial corridor. It may not be the most famous bridge in the city, but it’s one we cross several times daily, and feels a bit like “ours”. #Mendon #Bronx #NYCTrucking #NYCbridges #MendonNationaLease

  Customer Spotlight: Duvale Hunter, #AcmeSmokedFish --- Duvale, tell us about your history with Acme Smoked Fish. — I started at Acme as a driver and worked my way up to Fleet Manager., so I've seen the job from the driver's seat and from the office. That gives me a good understanding of what our drivers need to succeed. Mendon and Acme, though, have actually been working together for more than forty years. That’s a long time. Why do you think that is? — It probably has something to do with how hands-on they are. You’re not getting transferred around or leaving messages that go nowhere. When you call, you're talking to someone who knows their stuff, follows through, and gets you the answer quickly. What really stands out to me is that Mendon has the best mechanics around, hands down. I can’t recall a technical problem they couldn’t handle. Our trucks are on the road 10–12 hours a day, and we depend on that reliability for our customers. It’s one of the reasons we’ve always thought of Mendon more as a business partner than just a supplier. We trust them, and they trust us. That’s how a good partnership works. Looking ahead, how does having Mendon as a partner support the growth of your business? — Every year we’re moving more volume, and that can present challenges for our fleet. Mendon understands the details of vehicle specifications, stays on top of new technology, and helps us find solutions that work for our operation and our budget. We are completely confident in their knowledge and experience. Any last thoughts? — We’ve been working together a long time, and along the way we’ve shared plenty of good laughs too. You’ll now see the 1% for the Planet logo on our flagship cold smoked salmon products nationwide. Through this partnership, we donated over $200,000 in 2024 to help combat climate change’s impact on seafood—and we continued that commitment into 2025, 2026, and beyond. 🚲 Cycling towards Circularity In 2025 Acme made tremendous strides towards our goal of diverting 100% of waste from landfills and moving towards a more circular business model. Highlights include recycling fish byproducts from our New York operations, compacting and recycling Styrofoam in North Carolina, and supporting the growth of Finfare—our partner developing a premium pet treat line made from food-grade byproducts.   The 2025 Seafood Industry Climate Award winners are officially announced! 🎉 Congrats to Bristol Bay Regional Seafood Development Association, OctaPulse (YC W26), and Deer Isle Oyster — three leaders driving climate-forward change in the seafood industry. Through the Seafood Industry Climate Awards (SICA), each recipient will receive a $70,000 grant. This includes our second annual TD Bank Award, which recognizes a project advancing the low-carbon transition through energy efficiency and workforce development — won by Deer Isle Oyster this year. In South America, the Acme Foundation also awarded $40,000 to ReCircuLab and Hera Materials in Chile as part of a parallel initiative. These awards are funded by Acme Smoked Fish Corp’s 1% for the Planet commitment, supporting climate action through 1% of sales from all Acme cold-smoked salmon retail products.
