BUFORD, Ga. --Adam Sandler is filming scenes this week in downtown Buford for the movie "Blended." The movie, which is due for release in May 2014, also stars Drew Barrymore.

The Buford City Commission approved a special event application for Warner Brothers and Happy Madison Productions to shoot between July 15 and Aug. 15 for the film, reports the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Filming on W. Shadburn Avenue in downtown Buford Tuesday attracted a crowd of locals who have gathered in the hope of getting a glimpse of the stars, reports the Gwinnett Daily Post.

Anthony Johnson, the owner of Johnson Pharmacy, told the Gwinnett paper a movie crew plans to film a scene at his business on July 23.

"They were looking for a small hometown traditional pharmacy and they thought that ours fit the bill." Johnson said.
