Hi macbook pro os catalina 10.16.2 Adblocker plus stoped working on most sites especially yahoo I have checked extensions in safari only AdBlocker there and all checked except allow acceptable ads. I cleared safari history , emptied caches to no avail. The ads are by adchoice and videos start by themself even that autoplay is off. I have to mute my mac all the time because of this. The videos will start and when i go down they get small and follow me. Then my mac warns me that web page is using excessive power and shutting it down might improve web viewing. On battery it uses it a lot faster Please help

You may  have adware/malware installed. Try downloading this program which was written by Thomas R, a long time poster. The program will search for malware/adware. The program will do the work for you which makes it easy. It may be necessary to run more than one scan. After running the scans, restart the computer.

  • Safari > popup ads > blocked. But Google keeps showing up full width bottom of the screen. MacBook Pro (Ventura 13.3.1) Can't seem to get the slow motion, rise from the bottom of screen, full width ads from Google to stop. This is making use of the computer a miserable experience! How can these irritating google ads be stopped? 968 11
  • Safari. Webpages not loading properly. MacOS Monterey 12.1 MacBook Air M1 Safari: 15.2 Extensions: AdBlock Pro, Dashlane and Raindrop (See screenshots) Problem is there for already several months and happens quite often. Especially on websites like Wikipedia. Can happen on Google, DuckDuckGO search results page too. I believe was happening since Safari redesign. Very annoying to deal with, since not event Safari restart helps (helps sometimes) 1722 7
  • Why does a brand new MacBook Air with default Safari settings refuse to load webpages? I have repeatedly force quit Safari, cleared my history and cleared the cache through dev tools. I have also turned off Prevent cross-site tracking (which I would have preferred to keep active) and Allow privacy-preserving measurement of ad effectiveness is off. At this point major web pages are dragging with unacceptably long load times and frequently refusing to fully load the page at all. I am not sure what the thinking was to cripple web browsing in favor of attempting to protect privacy. At this point I am just going to install Firefox and be done with it. 799 2

Thank you for Clarifying that.

Go Here: Adblock Plus for Safari - Apple Store. This is the one intended for use with Safari. So, remove whichever one you have installed. Then, install the one sown there. As it mentioned, you can get it in the Apple Store.

So Use these Steps:

  1. Uninstall Adblock Plus - Adblock - Select your browser, then download it the uninsaller
  2. Restart the Mac
  3. Install Adblock Plus for Safari - Apple Store
  4. Restart the Mac

Are you referring to: AdBlock Plus?

If so, Attempt a New Install, in accordance with the developer.

Currently, no, I do not use it. Though, I have in the past. Many items would not load. With that being said, I did away with the installation.
