Original poster Feb 5, 2009 1,966 4,092 Does anyone have advice on how to clean the Magic Keyboard for iPad? I use a very light cleaning spray (I think designed for displays mainly) and cloth on my iMac’s Magic Keyboard but for some reason I’m a bit nervous about doing that with the backlighting. Should I be? Thanks in advance.duanepatrick

Dec 22, 2019 431 308 This is what Apple says:- Use only a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid abrasive cloths, towels, paper towels, or similar items.
- Avoid excessive wiping, which might cause damage.
- Unplug all external power sources, devices, and cables.
- Keep liquids away from the product, unless otherwise noted for specific products.
- Don't get moisture into any openings.
- Don't use aerosol sprays, bleaches, or abrasives.
- Don't spray cleaners directly onto the item.

I also can’t speak to the effect of alcohol on that silicone coating so proceed with caution. C

Click to expand...i've been using Clorox wipes on my Smart Keyboard Folio which has the same outer material with no issue. I've used it on the key surface too but the Magic Keyboard will be different, moisture can get in, so I suspect the Clorox will still be safe but you just have to be careful to not let drips of liquid get on the keys, a mostly dry wipe or a soft cloth with limited disinfectant spray applied carefully should be fine.

Click to expand...I haven't experienced a sticky keyboard yet but you should avoid applying liquid to it as much as possible. Try to check this link I found online if it works for you: How To Fix Sticky Keyboard Keys on a MacBook
