Anyone I talk to about spam either loves it or doesn’t like it at all. I happen to love spam, especially after living in Hawaii for 6 years.

Spam is a canned meat product made of pork and ham. It was first introduced to Hawaii in the 1930s by Chinese immigrants and has since become a popular dish in Hawaiian cuisine. It’s often eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

You can find spam musubi (a rice ball wrapped in seaweed with a piece of spam on top) at most convenience stores.

While there are many ways to cook spam, I love when it gets nice and crispy on the outside. The air fryer is the best way to cook spam because it results in perfectly crispy spam fries!

🐖What You’ll Need

Canned Spam – Even though this meat product is all over Hawaii, you can also find it in your local grocery store. There are so many types of spam you can choose from including, original, lite, and even a jalapeño flavor!

Air Fryer or Ninja Foodi – Any air fryer will work for this recipe. We love the Ninja Foodi in our house because it’s versatile and reliable!

Sharp Knife – You’ll need a sharp knife to cut your block of spam from the can into french fry shapes.

🔥How To Make Spam Fries In The Air Fryer

1️⃣Preheat your air fryer: Turn on your air fryer and heat to 400F for 3-5 minutes.

2️⃣Cut the spam: While your air fryer is preheating, remove the spam from the can. Cut the block into 1/2 inch large slices, then cut the slices into french fry shapes.

3️⃣Air fry spam: Place the cut spam in a single layer at the bottom of the air fryer basket. Set the timer for 10 minutes. At the halfway mark, flip the spam using tongs or a spatula. Continue to air fry for an additional 5 minutes or until the spam is crisped up to your liking.
