AK47 A How interchangeable are AK parts from one AK to another? Can you just drop a Romy bolt into a Mak-90 or an arsenal and it work? Would it need to be headspaced, I am guessing? Are AK bolts specific to a specific rifle? What about the bolt carrier and pistons? Other parts? Thanks. #1 · Mar 20, 2008 How interchangeable are AK parts from one AK to another? My ars can use the same bolt beucase I checked the headspace. Some out there may not beable to use the same inspec bolt. #3 · Mar 21, 2008 Where do you find the guages? #4 · Mar 21, 2008 http://www.theakforum.net/phpBB2/search.php #5 · Mar 22, 2008 AKM parts are generally interchangeable, however, lots of exceptions. Helpful Specifically, what carriers are interchangeable with an ARSENAL milled model 47? I'd like to find a 'white' carrier to use in one of mine. Or would you just strip the one that is in it? The one I'm thinking of is unfired. TIA #7 · Mar 22, 2008 I don't know if arsenal milled is an AKM or AK-47 patern, but looks like it might be AK-47 patern. Is it a 7.62 or 5.45 gun? I believe the carriers for the 47 are the same as the AKM but not the same by calilber (exception is that the .223 Chinese guns use 7.62 dimension carriers, I think). The real queston is WHY would you want to have your carrier in the white? This seems to be 'correct' only for CHinese and yugo guns. I'd strip the one I had if I had to have it that way. #8 · Mar 29, 2008

fair question. I buy rifles that I see and like, or those closest to issue guns as possible. In this case, it is one I saw and wanted to replicate. Hence my interest in parts interchangeability. The one behind this is shown in the photo below (top, and not mine) Image #9 · Mar 29, 2008 So it is a ak-47 pattern it appears. I believe any AK-47 or AKM pattern carrier will work (in 7.62 of course as are all ak-47 and AKM). #10 · Mar 29, 2008 "Shiny" Bolt Carrier

Dad and I are like you, we like the bolt carriers in the "white". If you strip yours, it's going to be real shiny and show up like a sore thumb. We've always liked the finish of the chi-com carriers and have one in our WASR 10. Nice and dull but clean. Not gonna see it in the dark. But, to each his own and compareing the pic of the "Legend" to the polished bulgy, what looks the best to you? Mad Max son of Madtechcool  Insert Quotes Post Reply
