Some ingredients aren't common and are only found in certain locations or on certain quests. This page lists them alphabetically.Note that the exact locations of most alchemy formulas are random; so chances are you will not find them in these locations, but then there is a good chance you'll find a different formula instead. Quest-related mutagens are always the same, however.
  • Many ingredients are common and you just have to gather them in the wild or buy them from herbalists. 
  • There are multiple interesting locations for recipes/torn-out pages: The Herbalist's Hut (Velen) & Gedyneith (Skellige), the Halfling Herbalist in Novigrad, and the Druid Gremist in Skellige
  • White Gull is an essential ingredient. Craft a lot of it. To do so, you need ingredients like Cherry & Mandrake Cordial and Redanial Herbal. Most innkeepers will sell them, as well as traveling merchants. 
  • There are many other alchemy ingredients that need to be created by you. Since they share common ingredients, only make us much as you need.

Arachas Venom Random drop by dead Arachas, found throughout Velen and Skellige (Ex: explore south of the Orphans of Crookback Bog marker in Velen, as the bog ends. Also, near Ard Skellig as part of the main story quest).

Cave Troll Hide Harvest from dead troll -- look for a respawning one in the bandit camp, southwest of Crossroads in Southwest Velen. Reload your game after killing it to trigger the respawn, then meditate.
