Biography

Since 2017, when I was elected as Alderman-at-Large, I have proudly served our community. I was born and raised in Sterling, IL and have always called Sterling my home.After I graduated from Sterling High School. I started my college studies at Sauk Valley Community College and completed my bachelor's degree with Western Illinois University. I have also completed Master of Public Administration and Master of Business Administration degrees with South University.

Having retired from the US Army Reserves after 35 years of service to our country, when I am not busy with my responsibilities as an alderman, I enjoy volunteering to serve our community through St. Mary's Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 662, the American Legion Post 296, the Moose Lodge 726 and the Sterling Optimist Club. As an alderman, I am focused on property tax relief, job creation, business development and government accountability. I am also working to keep our neighborhoods clean and safe by removing blight and supporting our First Responders. Working to find solutions to our lack of affordable housing is another project that I am working on with others. I enjoy working with the residents, and businesses throughout our community to help them achieve their goals. And it is also a pleasure to work with a devoted group of city hall staff, department heads and employees who do their best to deliver our city services to the residents of our community.

I enjoy the many amenities that our community has to offer, especially the outdoor activities and researching the rich history of our hometown Sterling, IL.
