Road 96 is a procedurally generated game where the scenarios are mix and match. That means no two players are likely to have the same experience, or the same ending!

There are three possible endings you can discover in Road 96, and they all depend on your actions. Nearly every choice you make in the game, like donating to campaigns, vandalizing political posters and speaking to characters about politics will impact your final outcome.

Therefore, it makes sense to decide ahead of time what kind of outcome you'd like and play accordingly.

All Road 96 Endings Explained

Here are all three endings you can find in Road 96.

  • Revolution — Petria has been on the verge of political revolution for some time, what with the Black Brigades and Tyrak's ongoing rule. While Florres is running for office, lots of people think the electoral system is so broken that voting doesn't matter. As you play through the game, you'll be given multiple opportunities to encourage a revolution. When speaking with NPCs you'll often see dialogue prompts that include icons on them. If you see a fist icon, that dialogue option is more likely to create a revolution. The game will remind you that each choice has an impact every time you choose one of these options. Other opportunities arise when you see political posters; if you vandalize Florres posters, you're more likely to encourage revolution. This path may require you to steal, get aressted or die, since you'll be trying to inspire power and courage in other characters along the way.
  • Election - The middle path, or the electoral path, is the easiest to achieve in the game. You'll essentially be pushing for the most civilized outcomes and will want to choose logical, civil answers when choosing actions and dialogue. When you see a voting ticket icon on dialogue prompts, this is the choice you'll want. In addition, vandalizing Tyrak posters encourages an electoral outcome.
  • Escape - Escaping is the most selfish outcome, but hey, we're not judging. If you decide to save yourself and all the teens you play as, even when faced with hard choices, you'll achieve this outcome. This requires you to prioritize your own life above all other NPCs'.
