When Allen Iverson signed a three-year, $8.9 million rookie contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1996, he earned $2.27 million in his first season. In 1999, he secured a new six-year extension worth $70.9 million, dramatically affecting his annual earnings. In 2006, just before the 2008 financial crisis, Allen Iverson paid $2.19 million for a 5,985-square-foot, seven-bedroom mansion in Alpharetta, Georgia. In January 2018, he relisted the property for sale in a somewhat rundown condition, with an asking price of $1.14 million. Unable to sell, Iverson had to resort to several minor price reductions throughout the year, dropping it as low as $850,000 in November 2018.
