She was interested in acting since her childhood as she thinks to become a great actress in the future. Blake completed her education at Claremont High School and Pomona College.  It has revealed that one of her ancestors was the heroine of the American Revolutionary War.

Amanda Blake first appeared onscreen in the 1950 movie named  ‘Stars In My Crown. In the same year, she did the movies ‘Duchess of Idaho’ and ‘Counterspy Meets Scotland Yard’.After this, she got a chance to be featured in the drama ‘Schlitz Playhouse of Stars. In 1953, Amanda got the opportunity to act in the films Lili’ and ‘Sabre Jet’.After that she did a few movies, namely ‘Miss Robin Crusoe’, ‘About Mrs. Leslie’, ‘A Star Is Born, and ‘The Adventures of Hajji Baba’.Soon after this, Blake was cast as Kitty Russell in the drama series ‘Gunsmoke’ which makes her so much famous.From 1957 to 1963, she was selected for the role of Ruby in ‘The Red Skelton Show. Then she did the TV film ‘Clown Alley’. After that, she hosted the game show ‘Tattletales’.  Then the actress appeared in the TV Movie Documentary ‘The Best Little Special in Texas’ In the year 1982. Two years later, that means in the year 1984 Blake played Dr. Juliana Stanhower in the drama ‘The Edge of Night. After that in the year 1988, she did the film ‘The Boost’.
