Amnesty Day

Fee Waiver

Amnesty Day is approved by the Board of Commissioners on an annual basis. On Amnesty Day the county will waive the normal tipping fee for all county residents. This does not apply to commercial businesses and waste haulers. Amnesty Days occur on the first Saturday in May and the first Saturday in October. Amnesty Day will benefit those who want to throw away wood, bricks, limbs, stumps and other construction debris, all of which the landfill accepts but with a fee. Furniture, white goods, and tires are already accepted at the landfill for free. Hazardous waste or liquids are never accepted and Amnesty Day is no exception!
