Advanced Search Amy Joanne Robach is an American television journalist, currently working for ABC News as the news anchor on ‘Good Morning America’. A breast cancer survivor, she took the viewers of her program through her mammography process, with the aim to spread awareness about the disease that is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in American women after skin cancer. Amy started her broadcasting career as a general assignment reporter at WCBD-TV. After working at WTTG-TV for four years, she moved to NBC News, where she worked for nine years. As a national correspondent for NBC News, she was also a co-host of the Saturday edition of NBC's ‘Today’, and anchor on MSNBC as well. From NBC News, she headed to ABC News. Initially she was a correspondent on ABC's ‘Good Morning America’ program, and gradually climbed the ladder to become the news anchor of the show. Honored by Regardie’s magazine as one of the top 100 powerful Washingtonians, Amy was unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer that shattered her life. Although her family supported her through thick and thin, she revealed in an interview that the shock of the breast cancer diagnosis caused “massive ups and downs” in her married life. Eventually, through therapy she and her husband were able to salvage the relationship.
