Seek out Andariel in the Catacombs Level 4.

Andariel is the first Act Boss you’ll encounter in Diablo 2 Resurrected, and while she’s not very interesting in Normal difficulty, her Nightmare and Hell difficulty iterations are far more interesting, and definitely worth doing runs on. She can be found on the Catacombs Level 4, forcing you to trek from the Catacombs Level 2 Waypoint down two levels to reach her.

While her Monster Level (mLv) is too low to be of much interest in Normal difficulty, it’s significantly higher in Nightmare. While Nightmare [Mephisto] arguably makes a better target for boss runs, as he can drop a far wider selection of mid-tier gear, Nightmare Andariel does have the distinction of hitting the “sweet spot” for dropping Stones of Jordan. Andariel is naturally more inclined to drop amulets and rings, and since her mLv in Nightmare is high enough to drop The Stone of Jordan, but not high enough to drop a whole lot of other rings, Nightmare Andariel is perhaps the best source of these items.

By Hell difficulty, Andariel can drop everything Nightmare Mephisto can, along with other standouts like Gheed’s Fortune and Harlequin Crest. Normal monsters can also drop Monarchs en route to Andariel, making farming her a lucrative option. She’s still got a high chance to drop rings and amulets, which makes her a good source for things like Raven Frost and Bul-Kathos’s Wedding Band, but the expanded drop list makes her less likely to drop Stones of Jordan.

Andariel primarily deals poison-based damage, but her physical attack can be quite painful as well. Having high poison resistance and some items that reduce poison duration will help. She’s also weak to fire damage, making her quite an easy boss for a Meteorb Sorceress to knock down, while her lack of resistance to magic damage makes the Hammerdin a good match, too.
