In 2012, Andre Drummond signed a four-year rookie contract worth $10.7 million with the Detroit Pistons. The deal was initially guaranteed for $4.8 million, with Drummond earning $2.35 million in his first season. Drummond’s annual salary gradually increased, reaching $3.3 million by the end of the contract.

In 2016, he inked his first nine-figure deal, a five-year extension with the Pistons, worth $127.2 million. The contract’s value was fully guaranteed, increasing Drummond’s annual average salary tenfold, from $2.6 million to $25.4 million. Andre earned $87.7 million in three and a half seasons with Detroit before being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2020. He earned an additional $9 million with Cleveland for the rest of the season.

In 2021, Drummond agreed to a $28 million contract buyout with the Cavaliers and signed a 1-year, $795,000 deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. Brief stints with the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers earned him $2.4 million for the 2021/22 season. In 2022, he signed a two-year, $6.6 million deal with the Chicago Bulls.

In July 2024, Drummond inked a two-year, $10 million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. He’s currently in the final year of his deal, which will earn him $5 million for the 2025/26 season.

Thus far in his career, Andre Drummond has earned $155.1 million in salary, of which $98.36 million was earned with the Detroit Pistons.

$100 Million Contract

As we mentioned above, Drummond signed a nine-figure contract in 2016. In an interview on Paul George’s podcast in January 2025, Andre discussed the deal. He explained that once he signed that contract, he felt like he’d made it. His focus on improvement waned, and his attitude soured. These things are reflected in his subsequent contract, as he went from a $100 million deal straight to the league minimum of $795,000.

Drummond also felt that if he’d kept his head in the game and continued pushing himself, he could have received that “$100 million two, or three, or four, or five times.” Andre also believed that his natural athleticism was what kept him in the league, and without it, he would have been cut entirely.

Endorsements

Andre Drummond has earned an estimated $1 million annually from endorsement income for the last several years.

In 2014, Drummond signed a deal with the Jordan brand. However, the specifics of the contract were never publicly disclosed. Today, he often plays in Nike LeBron shoes, but at the time, he graced the court in Air Jordan 10s. Other companies that have sponsored Drummond include Anheuser-Busch, AT&T, Electronic Arts, JBL, and Panini.

In 2015, he began working with JBL to promote their headphones, a product that professional athletes commonly endorse. In 2018, Drummond extended his relationship with JBL, appearing in several commercials for the company. He also worked with actor Terry Crews for an AT&T commercial that year.
