Since the hp wiki says "Talented and determined students could acquire the skill during their school years if they wished to", and the MC is in 5th year, do you guys think we get a chance to be an amimagus? Do we get to choose an animal from many options? or Is it going to be the same as your Patronus?P.S. What's your Animagus/Patronus animal on Pottermore? < > Showing 1-15 of 15 comments GrandMajora View Profile View Posts 22 Apr, 2022 @ 10:47pm I'm hoping so, but the process for doing so is supposed to be extremely difficult, not to mention time consuming. If you fail to get it right the first time, there can be horrific and permanent consequences for your character.Additionally, anyone wishing to become an Animagus is required by law to submit an application form BEFORE trying to brew the potion, so that they are able to keep track of who has this ability. Those who fail to register with the ministry are sent to Azkaban for punishment. #1 WarioLandGP View Profile View Posts 23 Apr, 2022 @ 12:55am Had the exact process of how to become an animagi not been described in canon, I think the devs could have come up with some way to make it fun and interesting. But since there is a canon article about it, written by JKR and published in a Pottermore Presents ebook, we have canon for it.And the real canon process of how to become an animagi is really complicated, extremly specific, and something that would not translate to fun gameplay.Honestly, I used to imagine that becoming an animagi is simply just intense magical training, that's what it seemed like Book 3 implied, and that's how I would prefer things to be.Anyway, I still wouldn't expect animagi to become a feature, regardless of how the process of becoming one is implemented. It's too powerful whem mastered, it's too different from regular gameplay. #2 GrandMajora View Profile View Posts 23 Apr, 2022 @ 5:26am

Which would make sense, as 'Moody' just casually transfigured Malfoy into a ferret. I'm sitting here wondering why a talented enough witch or wizard couldn't use a similar spell on their own body? #3 nathen.birkett View Profile View Posts 3 Dec, 2022 @ 6:21am Would love for animagi to be in the game- going through a series of quest to get this option Would be cool if we could create our own animagi in the game aswell so each one is unique #4 The Son of Heaven View Profile View Posts 28 Dec, 2022 @ 10:31am 1 1 amogus #5 gringo.rld- View Profile View Posts 28 Dec, 2022 @ 11:54am

First will it be possible to be an other animal? Because in the moovies Sirius Black is only a dog? Being different animal ingame for fly, or jump could be amazing! If it is only with your patronus, with my weasel, there's no possibility to fly. #8 Rainy Kitten View Profile View Posts 29 Dec, 2022 @ 2:58am I've always had the theory of animagus and patronus are connected somehow, but I usually got odd looks from friends when I suggested this. It made sense to me since Harry's father has a deer patronus and animagus form, and I suspected the other's were the same. I always thought it was more fanciful thinking for me, but I'd at least like to believe there is a connection. #9 Preferred Pronoun View Profile View Posts 29 Dec, 2022 @ 3:23am Could be a good dlc to add animagus. If all goes well they could add it together with a questline. Nothing from what we’ve seen suggest you can be one at present tho. #10 GrandMajora View Profile View Posts 29 Dec, 2022 @ 3:51am

It's pretty much been confirmed in the lore that if your patronus takes the form of an animal (which is a more advanced version of the spell), it does so as whatever animal your animagus form would be.Which would mean that while Harry would become a stag, Hermione would become an otter. #11 tibarbare View Profile View Posts 29 Dec, 2022 @ 4:47am Well i will fly on my wizard broom, but it will not the same! But i really think that Rainy kitten is in the good way! #12 Shadowskyt View Profile View Posts 29 Dec, 2022 @ 6:14am Don't forget that there's 'Ancient Magic' involved in the game.Which basically allows the writers to come up with ideas that somewhat contradict canon.Using this type of magic to turn into an Animagus isn't far fetched. #13 GrandMajora View Profile View Posts 29 Dec, 2022 @ 7:48am

I don't think they need to use the ancient magic as an excuse to hand wave canon lore away. As I said, the students of Uagadou have a reputation for becoming animagi at extremely young ages.In fact, the Ministry of Magic was actually quite shocked and horrified when they witnessed a bunch of 14 year old students put on a show of synchronized transformations into a variety of African wildlife. Somehow, they weren't comfortable with the idea of children turning themselves into cheetahs and elephants like it was some kind of sporting event. #14 Rainy Kitten View Profile View Posts 29 Dec, 2022 @ 9:46am
