Animal Crossing: Sitting Explained - How To Sit Down On The Ground ...
Maybe your like
Thanks to the November 2020 winter update, you can finally sit on the ground, inside or out, in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Even though you can sit or lie on various pieces of furniture, the ability to sit on the ground, like your villagers do, is unlocked by purchasing the Hip Reaction Collection.
Below you'll discover where you can purchase the Hip Reaction Collection and, after you've done so, how to sit on the ground in New Horizons.

If you want to sit down on the ground in New Horizons, you must first purchase the Hip Reaction Collection from the Nook Stop in Residential Services.
You'll be able to find the Hip Reaction Collection by selecting the option 'Redeem Nook Miles.'
The Hip Reaction Collection costs 2,700 Nook Miles.
How to sit down on the ground in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Once you've purchased the Hip Reaction Collection in New Horizons, the new reactions you collect will automatically appear in your Reactions collection, which is accessed by pressing the ZR button.
To find the 'Sit Down' reaction, you must now press Y to open your Reactions collection and select the little icon of the cat sitting down, labelled 'Sit Down,' to, unsurprisingly, sit down.
If you'd prefer to have quick access to this reaction, you can delete one of the reactions on your quick access wheel by pressing X.
With this open slot still selected, press X again and then select the 'Sit Down' reaction to have it placed on the quick access wheel for your reactions.
Now you can sit down whether you like on your island, including within Residential Services and the homes of your villagers.
Other reactions from the Hip Reaction Collection in Animal Crossing: New Horizons explained
Aside from the ability to sit on the ground, the Hip Reaction Collection will unlock an additional eight reactions in New Horizons.
These reactions are:
- Excited
- Here You Go
- Sniff Sniff
- Ta-da
- Take a Picture
- Wave Goodbye
- Work Out
- Yoga
A number of reactions, such as Yoga, could originally only be used by your villagers, but now that you have access to them you can join Bob in doing his morning yoga.
Others, like Here You Go, will cause surrounding villagers or even other players to partake in the reaction.
Version 3.0 has brought a host of new features to New Horizons. From the Resort Hotel to Slumber Island to new items, like ones from Zelda and retro games. There's still work be done on your island though! Ensure your Museum is full of art, fish and bugs. Cooking, meanwhile, will let you make some tasty gifts for your villagers. If your island needs decorating, why not add some Gyroids, flowers or fruit? Don't forget to make sure you've got every tool though and that your home is up to Happy Home Academy standards. There's also your Happy Home Paradise restort too!
How to access the Hip Reaction Collection in Animal Crossing: New Horizons
If you want to purchase the Hip Reaction Collection and gain the ability to sit on the ground, then you must first download the free winter update patch for New Horizons, which has been available from Thursday, 19th November onwards.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Free Winter Update - Nintendo Switch To do this, first ensure that your Nintendo Switch is connected to the Internet and attempt to play New Horizons. If a patch is available for download, then it will begin to do so, while allowing you to play New Horizons.
It's easier, however, to simply allow the patch to download first, so that you can enjoy the new content from the moment you start playing New Horizons.
Once the new patch is downloaded and installed, you can purchase the Hip Reaction Collection, along with the new hairstyles, and sit whether you want on your island.
Hope you enjoy your new reaction collection!
