Lionel Messi will miss Paris Saint-Germain's Ligue 1 match this Sunday in Monaco due to a flu-like illness that has kept him out for the last 48 hours, and which prevented him from training yesterday.

The Argentina star will, therefore, miss the last match before he joins up with his national side for their last two Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Messi has featured in 18 of the 28 matches played so far in Ligue 1, scoring two goals while he tops the assists charts in France with 11.

Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos, who has only played five games for PSG, is gradually recovering and trained with the group today, but will not yet be part of the squad to face Monaco. He should be able to return to the squad in a few days after the international break.
