Why We Cite!
Major Citation Styles Used in Anthropology
- American Anthropological Association (AAA) Style Guide As of September 2015, AAA style (for all publications) follows the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, particularly in regard to reference citations.
- American Journal of Physical Anthropology (AJPA) Style Guide As of 2017, the references of the journal should be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) (6th edition).
- Society for American Anthropology (SAA) Style Guide Editorial Policy, Information for Authors, and Style Guide for American Antiquity, Latin American Antiquity, and Advances in Archaeological Practice. Updated July 2018
