Apex Legends Ash: Release Date, Abilities And More

Those who’ve been following early leaks and theories might know that Ash has been teased as an Apex Legends legend since Season 5. Now, developer Respawn Entertainment has finally announced Ash as the latest legend to enter Apex Legends, with the release of Season 11.

Many players already know her from overseeing Arena matches as the announcer. If you are excited to actually play as Ash, then we’ve got you covered. Here’s everything you need to know about Ash, including her exact release date, abilities, and an explanation of who she is.

Apex Legends Ash release date & trailer

Ash will officially make her way to Apex Legends as the latest legend when Season 11, entitled “Escape” kicks off. It is really as simple as that.

In the aptly entitled trailer above, Ash was revealed as the next playable character in Apex Legends. She will be releasing alongside Season 11 on 2nd November 2021.

At the time of writing, an exact release time has not been confirmed.

Who is Ash in Apex Legends?

In Apex Legends, Ash is a Simulacrum, which means she is a robot much like Revenant, featuring a mechanical body and a human mind.

The human portion is Ashleigh Reid, or Dr Reid if you will. In the lore, she betrayed Horizon and her body was damaged beyond repair in an undercover operation.

Her mind was transferred into a Simulacrum by Vision Dynamics, and she made her first appearance in Titanfall 2.

Thanks to the “Ashes to Ash” trailer, it appears her mind is split, between the Simulacrum and Dr Reid, as the Simulacrum Ash wants to get rid of Dr Reid for good.

Respawn teased more story tidbits, posing the question: “Ash’s problems are all in her head…but that’s the most dangerous place they could be. Who’s Ash, and who’s Leigh?”

What are Ash’s abilities?

Ash’s abilities have not been revealed just yet. Thanks to dataminer Garret, we have an idea of what her abilities might look like in Apex Legends Season 11.

• Marked for Death (Tactical): AOE ability that causes enemies in the area to take more damage.
• Phase Shift (Ultimate): Possible portal jumping ability as well as shifting in and out of realities.

The full Apex Legends Season 11 reveal trailer will drop on 21st October 2021.
