What is Apple Pay?

Apple Pay is simple to use and allows you to pay in stores or within apps with the cards you already have on the devices you use every day. And because your card details are never shared when you use Apple Pay — in fact, they aren’t stored on your device at all — using Apple Pay on your iPhone, Apple Watch, or iPad is the safer and more private way to pay.

What if I lose my Apple device?

The best way is to log in to iCloud using your Apple ID. iCloud may be able to help you locate your lost device.

If you have added your card to Apple Pay, you may suspend all the added cards using the Find My iPhone function. You may also permanently remove all the cards using iCloud settings.

Alternatively, we can help you suspend or delete the Digital Account Number (Token) on your device if you know the last 4 digit of the token. It will not affect the normal usage of your physical card.

Do I need to have an active internet connection?

You need an active internet connection for card registration and activation. However, an active internet connection is not required to make purchases. Ideally, the device should connect to the internet so that you can view the transaction history on your device and keep your software updated.

How is my default payment card in Apple Pay determined?

If you have registered a card for your iTunes store, your default card for Apple Pay will be the same card registered for iTunes store. You can change your default card by opening the Apple Pay app, holding onto the desired default payment card and dragging it to the front.

Which payment cards can I register for?

You can register for all Standard Chartered retail credit and debit cards.

The card image I see on the device does not match my physical card. Is there an issue with my card?

No. The card displayed may not always exactly match the physical card.

The key points to look for are: 1. The Bank – Standard Chartered Bank logo 2. The Card Network (Visa or MasterCard) 3. The last four digits of the physical card

Can supplementary credit cards be registered?

Yes. Supplementary credit cards can be registered. However, the activation OTP will be sent to the Principal cardholder’s registered mobile number with SCB. Subsequent transactions on the supplementary card will be treated as transactions on the principal credit card.

I am a supplementary card holder, can I log in to SC Mobile with my own credentials to add my supplementary card onto Apple Wallet?

We are sorry, you will not be able to see your supplementary card on your SC mobile as a supplementary card holder. Therefore, you will not be able to add your supplementary card to your Apple Wallet through SC Mobile.

What should I do if I lose my original payment card and then receive a replacement card?

If you lose your original payment card and then receive a replacement card, you need to remove the original payment card from Apple Pay and re-register using the new card.

How do I use "Find My iPhone"?

If your device is lost or stolen, your payment information will not be accessible without your fingerprint or passcode. For added security, the Find My iPhone service can remotely lock or erase your payment cards in Apple Pay.

Why is my transaction shown as successful but is declined by the merchant terminal?

The merchant terminal’s response is the most accurate response. Your phone may need some time to refresh the status of the transaction. With data connection, a successful or declined transaction will be shown in the transaction history at the back of card (click on the “i” at the bottom of the card page), provided you have enabled the feature.

How to cancel/void a transaction on my phone?

Cancelling a payment made with your phone is the same as a physical card. You may need to go back to the merchant you made the purchase from and cancel the payment.

If you are asked for the last 4 digit of your card, the last 4 digit of your Token or Device Account Number should be used instead of the last 4 digit of your physical card. To locate your Device Account Number: Launch Apple Pay, click “i ” at the bottom right of your card. Look for Device Account Number.

Can cards which are blocked from making transactions be added or transacted on my phone?

You cannot add this card to your wallet until the block code is cleared out.

You may see that your token has been deactivated or suspended. You may also see that your token is ready for wallet, depends on the block code.

Why can't you help me to activate my token?

For better client protection, it’s best for tokens to be self-activated via OTP. It’s a simple process and we can guide you through the steps if needed.

Received "Could Not Connect to Apple Pay." when trying to launch Apple Pay app.

Phone setting issue: 4G data is not enabled for “Wallet”. To resolve, click “Settings” –> “Mobile Data” –> Turn on mobile data for “Wallet”.

Is there a limit on how many devices I can add my card to?

Yes, you can only add your credit cards on 10 devices for Apple Pay.

I have added my Standard Chartered credit cards onto iPhone Apple Wallet through SC Mobile, why am I still seeing the "Add to Apple Wallet" button?

This is because you have paired your iPhone device with an Apple Watch. If you have added your credit card again through SC Mobile, you will only be able to add the card on Apple Watch now.

Can I add my debit card into Apple Wallet through SC Mobile?

We are sorry, but you will only be able to add your credit cards to Apple Wallet through SC Mobile. Debit cards can only be added directly from Apple Wallet.
