Apple Pencil

Last Updated: 158d

Concepts fully supports the Apple Pencil on all compatible iPads, including pressure and tilt sensitivity, and customizable gestures.

Pressure & Tilt Sensitivity

Pressure and tilt are supported by many creative tools, including:

  • Hard and Soft Pencils
  • Airbrush
  • Marker
  • Watercolor
  • Dynamic Pen
  • Hard and Soft Masks

Finger Action (All Models)

You can set a separate action for your finger in Settings → Stylus. This allows you to perform two tasks without switching tools. Options include Pan, Select, Nudge, Slice, and more.

Double-Tap Gesture (Apple Pencil 2 & Newer)

Customize the double-tap gesture in Settings → Stylus. Popular actions include:

  • Previous Tool
  • Show Color Wheel
  • Select
  • Undo
  • Toggle Interface

Troubleshooting

  • No Response: Check if your Pencil's battery is charged and that it is paired with your iPad in Bluetooth settings. Try unscrewing and re-screwing the tip.
  • Poor Pressure Response: If the pressure feels off, you can adjust the sensitivity curve in Settings → Stylus. If the response is still poor, the tip may be worn out and need replacement.
