Maybe your like
Whether you’re looking for a weekend activity to enjoy with your kids, gathering apples for seasonal baking or homemade caramel apples, there’s nothing like spending part of a beautiful day at the local apple orchard.
While there are plenty of orchards within 20 minutes of Milwaukee on this list, you’ll also find gems a bit more far-flung. They’re perfect for a short weekend road trip to view the fall colors. Before you go
Some things to consider before you head to the orchard:
- Be sure to dress for the weather. Be sure to bring a coat in case it gets cool. Wear shoes that are comfortable for traversing uneven ground. If it's been raining, you might want to consider wearing boots.
- Before you go, be sure to check the orchard’s website. Double-check the hours of operation and peruse their listing for what’s ripe and ready for picking!
- Treat apple trees with respect. Don't climb them or break branches.
- Obey the rules on the farm. Every farm wants you to have a great time and they create guidelines to ensure everyone stays safe and the farm remains a great place to visit. So be respectful.
- Have fun! There's nothing like a delicous apple picked right from the tree.
