Creative and Design Apprenticeships

Broadcast and Media Systems Engineer

Level 6, 36 Months

Degree Apprenticeships combine University study and work-based learning to enable you as an apprentice to gain a full bachelor’s degree. This provision of an academic undergraduate degree is integrated with experience, practice and learning in the workplace. You will have paid employment status and do not pay any training costs or student fees. Degree Apprenticeships are co-designed by employers ensuring that you are equipped with the skills employers need and for your future career.

Construction and Built Environment Apprenticeships

Chartered Surveyor (Quantity Surveying)

Level 6, 60 Months

Chartered Surveyor roles are of prime importance for the construction industry, and are key in the successful delivery of projects. Our Chartered Surveyor Apprenticeship will typically take five years to complete. The apprenticeship includes a BSc (Hons) degree qualification and, upon passing an End Point Assessment (EPA), registration as a chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).

A Construction Site Manager is a highly trained and experienced professional who delivers construction projects from inception and design through to occupation. They also provide expert consultancy advice in property construction and related environmental issues. Construction Managers work independently, and with others to manage, plan, organise and deliver construction projects in line with the best available evidence and the values of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Assistant Practitioner (Health) - Higher Apprenticeship

Level 5, 24 Months

Do you want to enhance your career in health and social care? Our Certificate in Higher Education/Foundation degree is ideal for those already working a minimum of 30 hours per week within a health and social work setting. On this course you can develop your knowledge and skills to enable you to progress to Assistant Practitioner level or equivalent.

Diagnostic Radiographer

Level 6, 36 Months

As a diagnostic radiographer you play a valuable part in a service user’s pathway by providing the imaging needed to support their diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, using highly specialist technology. A career in diagnostic radiography combines science, technology, patient care and an eye for detail. As well as being a rewarding field to work in, it offers a diverse career pathway with a variety of options to progress to advanced practice.

Nursing Associate

Level 5, 24 Months

The FdSc Nursing Associate (Higher Apprenticeship) programme aims to produce compassionate, competent, and confident nursing associates at academic level 5 qualified to deliver a wide range of clinical, care and interpersonal skills underpinned by a systematic knowledge base. They will be able to practice safely and effectively within their parameters of practice, demonstrating appropriate values and behaviours in a wide range of health and care settings.

Level 6, 48 Months

Operating Department Practitioners provide holistic care for a diverse range of patient groups, both within and beyond the operating theatre. This BSc (Hons) Operating Department Practice Degree Apprenticeship (ST0582) is a work-based integrated degree, which enables you to become an Operating Department Practitioner, whilst being employed within the operating theatre.

Registered Nurse

Level 6, 48 Months

Our BSc (Hons) Nursing Degree Apprenticeship is a work- integrated degree to enable you to train as an apprentice to become a graduate registered nurse. The BSc (Hons) Nursing Degree Apprenticeship Course has been developed in collaboration with our local stakeholders and employers in the region and designed to comply with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC 2018) educational standards for nurses meaning that successful completion of this course makes you eligible to apply and be entered onto the NMC register in one of the four fields of nursing: Adult, Child, Learning Disabilities or Mental Health.

Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Maternity)

Level 3, 12 Months

The Senior Healthcare Support Worker (Maternity Support) Apprenticeship is a full-time apprenticeship delivered at the City South campus. The course has been carefully designed to provide you with the skills you require in order for you to undertake your role safely within the maternity workforce. The course equips successful candidates for a range of roles in maternity settings. Expert teaching staff provide the guidance needed to facilitate your development of the necessary knowledge, skills and behaviours that will support and advance your career.

Speech and Language Therapist

Level 6, 48 Months

Speech and Language Therapists support people of all ages who have communication and/or swallowing difficulties. We are one of only three universities offering this new apprenticeship in Speech and Language Therapy, which will prepare you to achieve excellence and professional autonomy in clinical practice. This course is approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Level 6, 36 Months

This BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science Integrated Degree Apprenticeship will develop your theoretical knowledge and practical skills within both the university and clinical practice environment. To be a paramedic, you must be able to overcome challenges, show initiative and demonstrate critical thinking. This apprenticeship will equip you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to rise to these challenges, while developing your communication skills and knowledge.

Vision Rehabilitation Specialist

Level 5, 24 Months

The Vision Rehabilitation Specialist Apprenticeship aims to train the next generation of Vision Rehabilitation Specialists. As an apprentice, you will work for your employer while also completing off-the-job training with us at the University. Your learning with us will be structured into blocks, allowing you to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required by the Vision Rehabilitation Specialist Apprenticeship Standard. Gradually, you will be able to put your learning into practice in the workplace, enhancing the lives of people with vision impairment.
