So how far will 2 pieces of T5 really put arcane ahead? I’d like to continue playing fire but everyone is saying to swap to arcane, will my dps really be that much lower? Compared to arcane as well as other classes.

If the arcane mage has support (shadow priest mana battery, shaman mana spring totem, gems, potions, etc…), and can sustain the dps without going oom, they will out dps a bit.

I will be staying fire, it is just what I enjoy. The set bonus gives 20% more damage and 20% more mana cost, so they will be consuming a lot of mana. It is just not my play style

If TBCC plays out like original TBC did then by the time we are entering The Eye, Arcane will be the go to spec for mages if you are min/max chaser.

By a decent amount.

Babysitting arcane mages isn’t really hard, just needs a spriest and a rshaman.

2 specs you should have in any raid comp.

And curator is immune to arcane…Does restrict the spec choices for the overall raid

Arcane/Frost on Curator isnt as bad a Fire on an Alar fight or Frost on a Hydross fight…

Arcane is the go-to because it is the most flexible …

Sorry but no, it is the go-to because it has mana support and short kill times in this phase making it their top parse spec. In P2 with the 2P T5 it becomes more valuable. Nobody plays the BIS output spec because it is “flexible.”

It’s very common knowledge mages delete their frost bolt after they spec fire.
