Archive 81 Viewers 'can't Sleep' After Terrifying Demonic Cult Scenes ...

NETFLIX’S Archive 81 has left fans so terrified they can’t get to sleep.

The eagerly anticipated series landed on the streaming service with viewers given a stern warning not to watch it alone late at night.

In the eight-episode series, Mamoudou Athie stars as Dan Turner, an archivist tasked with restoring a collection of tapes from the ‘90s – in turn uncovering dark truths about the building he’s working at.

As Dan watches the videos of Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi) who documented a cult in the apartment building, he becomes obsessed with her fate and the people that live there.

According to Netflix, the creepy show is what you’d get if you combined The Blair Witch Project, Midsommar and Frequency.

Netflix warned fans it was “a terrifying new series executive produced by James Wan [Saw] that you won’t want to watch at night.”

Despite the warning, Netflix users continued to watch it and then couldn’t sleep following ‘terrifying’ scenes involving the mysterious cult.

 “Archive 81 man I’m telling ya don’t watch it at night y’all stay safe,” warned one fan on Twitter.

Another added: “Yup #Archive81 is gonna give me f***ing nightmares.”

A third wrote: “I’m scared to go to sleep now.”

And a fourth commented: “Freaked myself out with that series #Archive81 on @netflix can’t sleep now.”

While Netflix has not officially ordered a second season, Rebecca Sonnenshine, one of the series’ showrunners, is hopeful that it will be returning to the platform. 

She explained: “The idea is that we continue on with these characters into a new season should we be so lucky to get a second season.

“I think we end on a good cliffhanger that needs to be addressed, so yeah, we hope to keep going.”

All eight episodes of Archive 81 are available to stream on Netflix now.
